Avan's POV

"What happened?" Dad walked in with a heavy expression. His face was serious and void of any emotions. The room filled with cries making it more noisy than needed.

"Alpha, look at my poor daughter. She is pale and unconscious" Salina cried as she looked at dad. Her face was covered with tears making her look so pitiful that anyone's heart could bleed. But I know her well. Salina could react faster than the signals of nerves that were sent in mind.

My gaze fell on the woman lying on bed with her eyes closed. I don't know why but my chest is tightening every time I look at her. The scene of our argument flashed in my mind again. I don't know why she was there. I thought if she could just rest in her room then everything would be peaceful but who could have imagined that this woman will suddenly show up in my study with a soup.

"Alpha you have to give justice to Reese" Salina's voice rang in my ear again. She wiped her tears as she spoke again "my poor baby is pregnant. She was carrying the heir of Bright Shine, now seeing her like this if anything wrong happens then how will she live her life? She has put all her efforts to serve this pack, even carrying the heir. Alpha you have to give justice to my daughter"

Dad threw a hard glare at Salina before turning his attention towards me "what's all these Avan? You can't even handle a simple matter like this? Then how will you handle the other problems of the pack? I was not expecting you to become like this. You are just making me disappointed over and over again"

"Dad, it was an accident" I said trying to clear the misunderstanding he was bearing in his mind. "Reese should be resting in her room and she was not allowed to step outside of her room. But today she suddenly showed up in my study with soup. I was worried that her condition was not good so it would tire her and asked her to leave and rest. But she refused and started to argue with me, bringing up past events and pointing out unreasonable things. I tried to stop but she became so violent that she started to shout loudly and suddenly it caused her pain and bleeding. I had to call for the pack doctor to check her"

"Who allowed her to go out of the room?" Dad roared as he looked at Salina.

Salina gasped as her eyes became wide. There was a sudden guilt flashed in her eyes because she covered it with her tears. I knew it was all their plan. They couldn't wait to dig inside the situation even after all this drama. These two women are really a greedy bitch who couldn't wait to do anything to achieve their goal.

"Alpha, Reese is pregnant and she was feeling suffocating inside the room. The doctor also told her to take a fresh breath so that she could relax her mind and body. It was suggested to be good for the baby too. But I never thought she would make soup and bring it to study. My child is always worried about Alpha Avan so she could help herself"

Dad didn't say anything but looked at Farid "I have told you to keep a good eye on these two. You couldn't even do such a simple task? Farid where is all your mind floating that you didn't realised them fleeing?"

Farid who was standing at the side lowered his head "please forgive me Alpha. Because of the family bonding I couldn't find myself to act too much strict and let this incident happened"

"What will your apology do now?" Dad glared at him. "When you are serving the pack you need to devote yourself and take the responsibility of your position and put it above all. But you are still stuck in your mate bond that you could not even keep a small task well. Since this is how you decided to serve the pack then fine, the pack does not need such a security head like you." Dad gritted his teeth "you are free from the position and now you can do whatever you want"

Farid looked shocked while Salina stopped crying and looked at dad with wide eyes. Looks like they never expected something like this would happen. They don't know why Farid was kept as security head all these years. It was dad's plan because they are helpful to the pack. But looking at the situation now it looks like they are not important at all. They are creating troubles one after another, whether it's the daughter or mother or the father itself.

"Alpha....." Farid managed to call. He stumbled back as he looked at dad.

"Alpha, please don't do that...." Salina cried out "it was not his fault. Reese sneaked out suddenly and Farid didn't know about it all" she tried to explain.

"Whether he knows it or not, it's not my problem. What I know is he couldn't perform his task and needed to receive the punishment" dad replied.

"Alpha, my husband has been serving you and this pack all these years without any hesitation. You have been praising him all the time for his contribution. It is only this time he made a mistake. Please don't punish him this severely. Please consider his serving all these years beside you" Salina sobbed as she said. While Farid just stood there like a statue.

"Now you are going to teach me how to rule the pack?" Dad laughed out "Farid you really know how to choose a woman for you. Now your wife is going to teach me the pack rules and regulations"

Salina trembled as she heard dad. She wiped her tears and about to say when Farid grabbed her arm and pulled her aside "shut up. Are you not satisfied enough with dragging me down this hard?"

Salina looked at Farid with shock "honey, I wanted to-"

"I don't need you to decide for me. Whatever you and that daughter of yours have done is already enough for me to suffer. I don't need you to speak for me" Farid clenched his fist as he hissed at his wife.

This time Salina choose to stay silent. She lowered her head and didn't speak at all. Just then the pack doctor walked from the other room. He has taken the blood sample from Reese to test after checking her body.

"Adam what happened?" Dad asked.

"Alpha, Reese's health is poor. And because she shouted with anger it caused her blood pressure to rise and affected the fetus. I am really sorry to say that the child is dead"

My heart beat stopped instantly. The baby is gone? My eyes fell on the still flat belly of Reese. My blood and flesh that were growing inside her womb is dead? I felt a sudden urge to kill. I told her to take care of herself but no, she had to create trouble and kill the child. My fist clenched and my jaw fixed. The anger boiling inside my chest is about to erupt.

"What did you say?" Salina gasped "the baby is gone?" She fell on the floor and clutched her head as she shouted "no...no.....this couldn't happen. How can the baby die just like that? This couldn't happen.....no...."

"How's her body?" Dad asked, ignoring the cries of the woman on the floor.

Adam shook his head "I am sorry Alpha. Today's incident has created a lot of trouble and has affected the body too much. I fear she couldn't bear any children in the future"

Couldn't bear any child in the future? I glared at the unconscious woman so hard that if glares worked then she would have died long ago. She not only affected the child but now also harmed her own body. So what if she holds the Luna position? Can Luna rule the pack if she couldn't give an heir for the pack?

"My poor baby girl" Salina shook her head vigorously as she cried out.

"Get her conscious back and send her back to the room" I said before storming out of the room.

This is all because of this unruly woman. If it was not for her. Nothing would happen like this. Since the baby is gone. We don't have anything to do now. The last hope that connected us together is now gone.

Savannah's POV

I looked at the mirror and traced the bite mark on my neck. It was longer and bruiser than hickies. It was Red and the wound is quite deeper than normal. Though I knew he would do it one day, what was most unexpected was that he did it so soon before I could prepare myself. I shook my head at the thought. I have heard about marking from Tanea and she also said after the marking mates can hear our thoughts and can understand us more better. I sighed looking at the bruise mark on my neck. I don't know if this will fade with time but the bruise he made is quite deep and it still pains sometimes.
