Contract Marriage: My Sweet Bossy Wife novel Chapter 7

"I don’t get you."

Blushing, Jessica looked away immediately at the sight of Lorenzo’s smirk.

The car was filled with Jessica’s unique fresh scent, which made Lorenzo’s throat dry. The girl next to him had always been composed, independent and strong, but she got shy when he teased her.

Meanwhile, Jessica’s eyes were attracted by a pet and dessert shop by the street.

"You like it?"

Lorenzo slowed down and threw a glance in that direction.

"When I was young, my mom would take me to that shop every weekend," Jessica explained in a light voice, but her eyes were gleaming with sadness.

"Let’s visit that shop together."

Lorenzo turned the steering wheel and pulled over to the curb smoothly.

This pet and dessert shop was famous in Ameriart, and it had a history of several decades. People usually came for the various kinds of dessert it offered, as well as cute animals.

Therefore, this pet and dessert shop had made up most of Jessica’s happy memories with her mother.

Jessica was 20 now, and it had been over ten years since she had last visited this shop. Suddenly, she felt a lump in her throat and jerked her head up stubbornly, because she didn’t want him to see her when she was emotionally vulnerable.

"I’m going to powder my nose," Jessica made an excuse and left at once.

Lorenzo saw clearly Jessica was fighting back the tears. What a stubborn and cute little girl!

Lorenzo pushed open the door and strode into the shop.

"Really? You mean Jessica keeps a gigolo behind Mr. Fletcher’s back?!"

Coincidentally, Bianca was also hanging out with her friend, Matilda Jenkins, in this shop. Matilda heard what Bianca said and exclaimed in surprise.

"Of course! I saw her getting off that man’s car," Bianca said with absolute certainty, sneering.

"It’s said that high-end gigolos are popular, and they get paid handsomely. Since Jessica just came back, I wonder where she gets the money to keep a high-end gigolo." Matilda was confused.

"I can tell the man in that car isn’t some ordinary gigolo. He must be a top-tier one, but…"

Before Bianca finished her sentence, a deep and mellow voice interrupted her.

"I want all of them, one for each."

Both Bianca and Matilda’s attention was attracted by that voice, and the two moved their gaze to that big and tall figure.

There seemed to be nothing special about that man, but one of good sense could tell he was wearing a custom-made suit. His ripped body was perfectly shown via the fine cutting, and the outline of his muscle was faintly discernible through the cloth.

"Look at him, Bianca! That man is a piece of art! So is he the one you were talking about?"

Matilda had seen many handsome men before, but no one was like the man in front of her now. Her heart started to pound as she blushed slightly.

His handsome profile, his powerful physique… If…

Bianca also put all her attention on the man. He seemed aloof and detached in that pale gray suit, and he was brimming with an enchanting sense of asceticism. He was one in a million.

"Hey, you said Jessica is keeping a high-end gigolo. Could he also be this type?"

Matilda plucked gently at Bianca’s sleeve as she spoke.

"Come on! She doesn’t deserve a gigolo of his type! She was broke when she was kicked out of the house, and she just came back. She can’t have the money to keep a high-end gigolo like him. She must be keeping an old and ugly one."

Bianca would never believe that Jessica, who was destitute, had the money to keep a high-end gigolo. Probably, he rented that car to put up a front.

"Sir, two kinds of dessert in the set you ordered are in very limited supply, and unfortunately, one of them was bought by those two ladies behind you," the shop assistant said apologetically, hoping that Lorenzo would understand it.

"Sir, it’s just dessert. If you like it, I can give it to you."
