Lorenzo was sober all of a sudden. He looked around only to find that Jessica had left the room. All details came back to his mind.
He remembered that he was so miserable that he assaulted Jessica violently, tied her to the bed and bit her lips. The smell of blood dragged him into the abyss and made him lose his mind completely.
Lorenzo got up suddenly and hurried to check everywhere in the the Private Estate but there was no sign of Jessica.
"Jessica..." Lorenzo's large frame shook and he began to mutter.
Jessica was gone. He's the one who forced Jessica to leave. She were probably not going home any more.
The horrible and bloody image of him after losing control came back to his mind. He was torturing Jessica like that! He himself even trembled with fear at his own madness, let alone such a little girl.
The devil-like ordeal must have made Jessica so miserable that she was afraid to stay here.
Maybe... She's not coming back...
Lorenzo hurried to take out his phone, typed in some numbers. His big hand froze over the screen before hitting the dial button.
Lorenzo dejected and returned to the large master bedroom and the empty room made him feel very depressed so he went to the bathroom, took a cold bath, put on casual wear and went down to the living room.
"Lorenzo, why are you so weird today? The housekeeper told me that Jessica sneaked out before 6 this morning. What happened to you two?"
Granny Mrs. Fletcher stepped up to him and asked him when he was going downstairs.
"Grandma, you’re early today. Nothing happened. We are good."
Lorenzo was silent for a moment, clenching his hands and trying to explain in a normal tone.
"Jessica is a good girl. I don't think there is a sweeter girl than her in Ameriart. I suppose you didn’t betray her? You must try your best to win her back if you made her unhappy. You should not just serve the Fletcher family. You should be kind to your wife by heart, too."
Granny Mrs. Fletcher taught Lorenzo.
Yeah, Jessica was always very gentle and sweet and she almost gave in to him in every way.
"Grandma, let me be honest with you. Jessica left. I probably won't contact Jessica again."
Lorenzo mentioned Jessica's name with wistfulness and pain in his eyes.
"What did you say?" Granny Mrs. Fletcher was almost frightened by Lorenzo's words.
"Jessica is a good girl and I don't want to make her miserable. I have always felt that I am no different from ordinary people. I just suffered from insomnia for a long time and it is inevitable that I may not control my emotions sometimes."
"But since Jessica married me, the more time I spend with her, the more I find myself out of whack. Even if I feel sad now, I can endure it and get over it."
"I can let go now even though I’m sad. I fear that in the future..."
If he lost control and became so selfish that he would rather hurt her than let her go in the future, it would be a tragedy.
What happened last night was still vivid in his mind. Lorenzo didn't have the courage to bet on a better future. He was so cruel and insensitive that he even lost his sanity as a human being yesterday.
Lorenzo didn’t want to drag innocent people down and he also didn’t want to see Jessica suffer.
With Jessica by his side, he had a chance to maintain some sense. When Jessica was not there...
"Grandma, we'll support each other as we always do... I’m going to the Group."
Lorenzo hugged her for a while before turning and leaving the house.
Granny Mrs. Fletcher was looking at Lorenzo silent when he was leaving. She was in a complicated mood.
They would just support each other... She was old and even if she were young and healthy, she could not accompany him for long. Sooner or later she had to go to heaven first...
Granny Mrs. Fletcher had been trying to help him. She couldn't ignore Lorenzo even if the world gave up on him.
But she was only a grandmother and could not give him parents' love and care. Lorenzo was so lonely and miserable that only the girl who loved him very much could save him from hell. But his symptoms got worse.
