Chapter 101
Katy POV
The girls kicked my ribs and my belly. “Ahh!” Rebecca brought the baseball bat right on thighs. I yelped in pain and tried to crawl away, but other girls blocked my path. One of them kicked me on my skull. Ara growled in pain and wanted me to unleash her, but with a constant attack, it was impossible for me to shift.
Anger provoked her while pain subdued me. Their continuous solid blows were making me weak. I heard a bone cracking, and I didn’t know where it was but I howled in pain. Tears burst from my eyes with so much pain. I saw a girl swinging her fist towards me, hitting me on my eye. With a painful cry, I brought my hands on my face as pain burst through my skull.
“Katy!” I heard a familiar voice coming from far in the distance. Was I dreaming? Or was I dead?
“Katy!” The voice sounded nearer.
“He’s here!” Rebecca growled. “Let’s go!” she hissed and rushed towards the window or the balcony.
I saw her jumping out of the window. Just then, the door of my suite swung open, and I saw a man through my blurry vision. He looked at me once, and then chaos ensued, I saw him shifting and grabbing the throat of a girl. He squashed her throat in his mouth, killing her on the spot. Then he jumped to the other girl, who was trying to run away. He caught her by her ankle. She shrieked in horror as she tried to run away, but the wolf was so strong that he pulled her leg, ripping it off her torso and killing her on the spot.
After that, I couldn’t see much as darkness surrounded me and I felt compelled to succumb to it. All I remember was a warm chest and someone calling my name.
I have no idea for how long I was unconscious, but whenever I tried to move, my body ached. There was so much pain that it was impossible for me to make sense of what was happening to me. Why did I come after Ace? My confidence in chasing him went ‘ down. I wanted to go home in the comfort of my brother and Kylie’s arms. They were my everything. Why didn’t I allow Ace to mark me? Probably the moon goddess was punishing me for keeping my mate away every time he wanted to make me his forever.
!
Finally, when I peeled open my eyes, I found myself bathed in a soft glow of moonlight that filtered through the window of my room. Something beeped on my side and I turned to see. There were several machines attached to my body, with tubes running around.
“Katy!”
My eyes snapped to the voice, and couldn’t help but smile when I saw Kylie. She came rushing to me and sat on the edge of the bed. Why was I seeing from one eye only?
“Katy, how are you?” she asked as she stroked my hand lightly.
I felt my other hand being stroked gently. When I turned my head all the way to the other side, I saw Logan. Tears came into my eyes as he stared at me with suppressed anger.
“Logan,” I said in a hoarse voice. “When did you come?”
His throat bobbed. Pointing with his thumb over his shoulder, he said, “Ace called us.”
I twisted my head to see where he had pointed and saw that Ace was standing at the foot of the bed, looking like he would die any moment, but not before killing everyone on the planet.
“Who did this to you?” Logan asked, looking at my closed and a swollen eye. “Ace tackled two girls, but he is sure that there were
1/3
more.”
I battled inside on if I should tell him because if I named Rebecca I was sure that he was going to attack her pack and bring her father down in no time for no fault of his. However, if I didn’t tell him who attacked me, Rebecca would think that I feared her.
“Tell us, who did this to you?” Katy insisted. “I am keeping Logan at bay for not wiping off the Viking pack. You got to help me here,
Katy.”
I closed my eye and took a deep breath in. But the moment I did that, my ribs hurt. “Ahh!” I winced.
Ace rushed to my side and stood beside Kylie. He placed a hand on my forehead and I reveled in the feeling. “You can’t move. Stay put. The doctor says that it will take two days for you to heal fully.”
“Two days? But the contest?” I protested.
“F*ck the contest!” Ace growled. “I have stalled it.”
“Now tell me who was the girl behind it,” Logan asked in a menacing voice.
“Rebecca,” I sighed. “She had come with five girls.”
Ace clenched his hands so tightly that his knuckles turned white. “I am going to kill that bitch!” he hissed.
“No,” Logan stopped him. “You will not do a thing,” he warned.
“Yes, do nothing to her,” Kylie supported Logan.
“You can’t stop me, Alpha Logan!” Ace growled. He spun and stormed out of the suite.
Logan narrowed his eyes on Ace. “Ace doesn’t recognize us,” he said. “The spell cast on him is dangerous. He can lose his memories
forever!”
A tear ran down the side of my temple. “I’ve never come across parents as cruel as these, but my intuition tells me that Luce and Queen Cassie were the ones determined to cast the spell. I hate to see Ace like this.”
Logan held my hand in between his and said, “I am this close to attacking the Viking pack and making Ace the Alpha.”
“That’s right,” Kylie added. “These bastards had the audacity to attack you? What kind of security do they have? That bloody Alpha
Soren is useless!”
I chuckled. “No, don’t attack them. Did you meet the king and queen?”
“No, we arrived an hour back and came to meet you directly,” Kylie said.
