Ryan took me to the apartment he bought for us. It was fully furnished, ready to move in.

As soon as we stepped inside, I noticed a huge bouquet of roses in the living room.

"Becca, this is the surprise Ryan planned for you!"

A few of his friends suddenly jumped out, popping confetti.

Ryan reached for my hand, looking into my eyes. "Becca, I really do love you. I've already picked a new date for the wedding."

Just as I was about to respond, a soft voice called out from the doorway.

"Ryan, I'm not feeling well. Could you take me to get some medicine?"

Her voice was delicate, her nose was red, and her eyes were teary, like she might start crying any second.

Even I felt a twinge of pity for her. But Ryan remained cold, saying, "Get out. You're not welcome here."

Her tears fell instantly. "Alright, I'll go... I'll go..."
