Chapter 1786
With the hospital release paperwork all done, Duncan sat ina wheelchair while his bodyguard wheeled him downstairs.
Having found out that Duncan was getting discharged, Duncan’s sister-in-law laid aside the matters at hand and hurried over to pick him up.
Since there were a lot of people fussing over Duncan, and Duncan was under the bodyguards’ care, Liberty wanted to deal with her own stuff. She told Mrs.Lewis, "Mr.Lewis is getting out of the hospital, and you have a lot of people at home to look after him.I won't go with you then.My newly acquired restaurant is under renovation now, so I want to check on it."
Mrs.Lewis wanted Liberty to come along to the house as Duncan would hold back a little on the tantrum when Liberty was around.
Noticing the weariness across Liberty’s face, Mrs.Lewis felt bad and replied, "We can take care of Duncan, Liberty.Go on with your work, but don’t work too hard. The last few days must have been draining on you."
She took Liberty's hand and thanked her again and again.
"Mrs.Lewis, we all wish for Mr.Lewis to get better. What's a bit of tiredness if Mr.Lewis could bounce back? Mrs.Lewis, I got to go."
Mrs.Lewis let go of Liberty's hand.
Liberty held her son’s hand and said goodbye to Mrs.Lewis before leaving the hospital with Sonny. It was close to dusk by the time Serenity returned to the city.
She went to her sister’s rented place.
Using the house key given to her by her sister, Serenity unlocked the door and entered the house to find Sonny watching cartoons in the living room.
She closed the door and cried, "Sonny."
With his aunt here, Sonny tossed the remote control aside and got up to run to Serenity.
Serenity held her nephew and spun around in circles.
The aunt and nephew enjoyed a good laugh.
Liberty emerged from the kitchen with food. She uttered with a smile, "Good timing, Seren.I just made dinner.Wash your hands and get ready to eat."
