Serenity waited at the entrance of the manor since she knew her sister was arriving.
Zachary naturally accompanied her.
However, she yawned incessantly.
Zachary said, “It was a long distance from downtown to here. I told you to take a nap since your sister would arrive just as you woke up from the nap, but you refused to listen. Now, you can’t stop yawning.”
Serenity yawned again and said, “I’m afraid I won’t want to get up if I lie down. When the AC is on during weather like this, I’ll feel lazier and want to sleep more. The more I sleep, the more I want to stay in bed.”
She could sleep the entire afternoon away if no one came to wake her up.
“It’s probably because the season is changing. People often feel lazy during such times.”
Zachary held her hand, pulled it up, and kissed the back of her palm. He looked up at her with eyes full of tenderness and asked, “Seren, it’ll be our wedding anniversary soon. What gift did you prepare for me?”
Serenity withdrew her hand and pinched his face deliberately, saying, “I have no idea. There’s still half a month left. What I’m thinking of now is the gift for Chloe and Connor. Their 100-day-old celebration is coming soon.”
Zachary said pitifully, “They’re Ben’s children, but you prioritize them over me? Seren, can you bear to make me feel disappointed?”
He would be sad for a year if he did not get a gift prepared by his wife on their wedding anniversary.
Serenity laughed. “I really haven’t thought about it yet. Tell me what gift you want. I’ll give it to you.”
She thought she would just spend the whole day with him on that day.
As for gifts, the only things she could think of were clothes, ties, watches, and men’s necklaces or a diamond ring for their wedding anniversary.
