Liberty’s expressions changed.
The first thing that came to her mind was that Belinda orchestrated a car accident to kill her.
She had guessed that Belinda would not stay still.
The banquet was peaceful, and the food was not poisoned. Therefore, Liberty was worried that her car was tampered with to get her into an accident. That was why she chose to sit in Hayden’s car.
The Fisher family would not dare to tamper with Hayden’s car or attack Hayden. Hence, Liberty would be safe if she followed her.
Six bodyguards were assigned to her; two each from the Yorks, Stones, and Lewises. Since she had brought them to Jensburg, she had to ensure their safety.
Therefore, she had hinted at her bodyguards to lie that they had drunk alcohol and were unfit to drive. In the end, all of them squeezed into one vehicle with Hayden’s bodyguards while their cars were being driven back to the hotel by the few Fishers’ bodyguards assigned by their butler.
The car that got hit happened to be the one Liberty was meant to ride in.
After the car overturned, it swiftly caught fire, giving no chance of conducting a rescue.
Liberty was certain that it was aimed at her.
If Kevin and Hayden were not with her, the chances of her escaping death would have been slim.
Did her grandmother die the same way back then?
“The Fisher family’s bodyguard was burned to death.”
Kevin said in a low voice, “We didn’t have the chance to save him. The flames were too big.
“Let’s go back, Liberty. It’s not safe to talk here.”
Kevin and Liberty had known that Belinda’s invitation was a trap. They thought everything had ended when they left Fisher Manor, but it turned out that the real trap had been waiting for Liberty on the road.
If Hunter and Celine’s affair had not caused a mess, Liberty might not have been able to escape.
“The bodyguard had died in my place,” said Liberty softly.
It was her first time being in the center of a plot and facing death directly.
Hayden consoled her, “The person who caused his death was Madam Fisher. If she didn’t plot a murder, this wouldn’t have happened. However, this is just our guess, and we have no evidence. We can’t do anything to Madam Fisher for now.
