“Mr Carnes, you can rest assured I’ve got the contract ready. As long as you swing by, we can kick off our partnership.” 

Silver was pumped EliteEdge Consortium had been a big deal in the country for a while Most renovation teams had to source their materials from them. If he could strike a deal with EliteEdge Consortium at a low price, it would be a serious cash cow for him. 

“Alright, Mr. Brown, I’ll be there in half an hour.” 

Silver hung up, grinning from ear to ear He told his assistant to start prepping and grabbed his coat. He reached the building’s entrance, and just as the assistant parked the car in front of him, he heard someone calling him from behind 

“Mr Carnes 

Silver froze, his smile fading instantly. He turned to see Maja. 

Maja maintained her cold demeanor, giving a small nod. “You didn’t answer your phone, so I had to wait here. Is our previous contract still valid?” 

Silver wore an awkward expression ‘Penny, you’re here. I didn’t get any notice from the reception. 

Maja knew he was playing the fool But that was how the adult world worked. Everyone was playing a part.

It’s a project from lan, and I’m sure our collaboration will be mutually beneficial.” Penny, I’ve got a business trip and really don’t have time to look at your proposal. Let’s talk when I get back.” 

It was clearly a brush–off. Silver had probably found a new partner but hadn’t signed the contract yet, so he wanted her to wait. 

Maja got the hint.

Silver was indeed interested in lan’s project. But in reality, even if he provided the renovation team, the main beneficiary would still be the designer. The renovation company was not directly involved and can at most be credited for executing the design, well. 

Furthermore, all of Maja’s previous clients praised her for being hands–on and going to the construction site herself. They were completely overshadowed by the designer and didnt got much from it. 

However, a partnership with EliteEdge Consortium was a different story. They were willing to sell him renovation materials at cost price, enabling them to offer lower prices to attract customers. This would surely increase their regular orders since not everyone has deep pockets. 

Silver still wore a smile. 

“Penny, really gotta hit the road. We can talk when I get back.” 

With that, he got into the car. 

Maja, left outside, had anticipated this. From the moment she was stopped from going upstairs, she guessed Silver had found a new partner. 

But what she didn’t get was why he would refuse her just because he’s working with someone else. Doing lan’s renovation would benefit the company, wouldn’t it? What kind of benefits did the competitor offer? 

She had no time to ponder as she was busy contacting other renovation companies, only to be rejected. One had agreed but backed out when they heard her name. Clearly, someone was targeting her. 

Maja immediately thought of Samuel. With Daniel out of the picture, Samuel was now the CEO of EliteEdge Consortium.
