Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1035

After hanging up the phone, Maja noticed Ian, lost in thought, standing at the scene.

She approached him, voicing her curiosity,

"What's wrong?"

Ian shook his head and asked, "Is your assistant okay?"

"Yes, she is fine."

Zoey watched the street lights zoom by the window, awkwardly attempting to adjust her clothing.

The car stopped at the place she was at that time staying, a residential complex provided by Maja for the artists.

The complex had already been fully furnished and several artists had already moved in.

Security there was top-notch, the guards at the entrance knew each resident by name. Every entry required rigorous questioning, an ID check, as well as a phone call to the resident for final verification.

Zoey rolled down the window, smiling at the security guard who was still on duty late into the night.

"Could you open the gate, please?"

Recognizing her, the guard immediately opened the heavy gate.

When they reached Zoey's place, she glanced at the silent man beside her, not understanding why he had followed her in.

She nervously entered the password, and once inside, the man made himself at home on the sofa.

"Go take a shower."

His voice was cold, devoid of any interest in taking a closer look at her humble abode.

Zoey was the type of woman suited to be a homemaker; every corner of her room was spotless. She had personally selected all the furnishings, some of which were rare finds from second-hand markets. She had put a lot of effort and time into making the place warm and inviting to the visitors.

However, the man didn't spare a second glance, instead, he loosened his tie and leaned back as he was uninterested in anything else in that apartment.

Zoey went to take a shower, and when she emerged wrapped in a bath towel, he showed no patience or interest in foreplay, let alone kissing her.

He never kissed her, whether it was on the lips or neck. All he did was leave marks on her with a violent grip.

That left Zoey gasping for breath on several occasions, but she didn’t dare to say anything, considering it was she who had initiated all of that.

The man's gaze swept the room once, before he gestured towards the window, saying,

"Lean over there."
