lan was pressed up against her back, one arm wrapped around her waist. The elevator was stuck on some floor, and all they had to do was wait for rescue. He should let her go, but neither of them moved. 

Maja didn’t realize that their position could be misunderstood. After all, it was just two of them in there. Being close to him made her feel safe, plus there was only one handrail on this side. She even wanted to step back a bit to feel even safer. 

Not until lan’s breath tickled her ear did she realize how close they were.

Then she straightened her back and listened carefully to the noise outside. Her phone rang again. It was still Tricia. For some reason, she seemed particularly anxious tonight. 

“I’m at the entrance of Arrow Heights. Where are you?” 

Maja frowned. How did Tricia know she was at Arrow Heights tonight?
