Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1078

A few folks swallowed hard, suddenly finding their packed sandwiches hard to swallow.

Maja took out a disposable bowl and served Ian some soup.

"Ian, give it a try."

Ian took it and had a sip, surprised.

He was a hard man to please when it came to food, but he had to admit that soup was delicious.

While everyone else was eating their dry sandwiches, that wild mushroom soup seemed particularly precious.

Maja served Ryan and Tyler a bowl each, then ignored everyone else.

Those who had just been making sarcastic comments swallowed hard, then tried to dissuade Tyler.

"Tyler, aren't you afraid of food poisoning?"

"Scared of what?" Tyler downed the soup in one gulp. "I've got Ian as my backstop."

The soup cooked with spring water and wild mushrooms was so delicious that all four of them had a second bowl.

There was still half a pot left in the little iron pot, and everyone thought Maja would share it with them. Some had even prepared their bowls.

But in front of everyone, Maja poured the mushroom soup directly onto the ground.

"Maja, you're selfish. Just because you've had your fill doesn't mean you shouldn't let others have some."

"You'd rather waste it than share. You should be ashamed."

"Selfish and mean!"

Maja's eyebrows furrowed, realizing she had nothing to say to these people.

She was sitting a bit away from the others, and Ian was looking at a map with Tyler, saying they would pick wild fruit in the morning.

Maja's phone rang at this moment. It was a text message from a strange number.

[Maja, come down the small path on your right, walk about two hundred yards, and come and meet me.]

That was from Holden.

There was a hot spring at the campsite where the women would take a dip later.

But the women were still chattering away, and no one was going to the hot springs yet.

Maja gave Ian a nod, saying she would take a bath first.

Ian didn't suspect anything, and he just told her to be careful.

Maja followed the path and walked over two hundred yards. She could no longer hear the others.

Indeed, there was a silhouette sitting on a rock not far ahead.
