Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1082

Patric took a final swig from his beer bottle and crashed on the couch for a while.

He woke up abruptly at midnight, got up to make a sandwich in the kitchen, and brought it to Maja's room.

Maja was still sitting on the floor. She furrowed her brows when she saw him walk in.

He helped her up and led her to a chair beside a table, where he placed the plate.

"Have something to eat first," he suggested gently, pulling out the chair for her.

Maja looked at him suspiciously, for a moment even considering if he was alright in the head.

Eric looked back at her, his gaze filled with bitterness.

"Maja, things are more complicated than you think," he started, struggling to find the right words. "Let's just say there's someone else living inside me, and he's a bit hot-tempered."

Maja didn't respond.

Eric raised his hand to comfort her, but he didn't feel like he had the right. His hand hovered in mid-air before he pulled it back.

"There are people everywhere outside, and you can't leave now. But I'll help you. For now, just eat. I'll figure out who this person inside me is."

Maja felt like he was joking. What did he mean by someone living inside him?

Eric knelt down in front of her, looking up into her eyes. "I won't hurt you, and I certainly won't hurt Ian," he said softly.

As soon as he finished speaking, the voice in his head responded.

"You're full of it, Eric. If I'm your alter ego, then I was triggered because you're discontented. You're not satisfied with Ian having everything that should be yours, sleeping with your woman."

Eric ignored the voice, focusing on Maja instead.

Maja lowered her gaze to meet his, and for the first time since all this started, she saw the Patric she knew.

But she still had no clue what was going on.

Eric stood up, patting her shoulder in a gentlemanly manner.

"Eat first. If you want to fight back, you have to take care of yourself first."

Maja lowered her lashes, picking up the spoon in silence.

Eric's cooking was pretty good. At least, she seemed to enjoy it.
