Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1088

Ian didn't utter a single word. He simply opened the door to the room and left.

Upon his return to the Raymond Mansion, the place was bathed in white, with a wake being held.

Ignoring the people in the grand hall, he headed upstairs, showered, and changed into fresh clothes. Only then did he proceed to collect his grandfather's ashes.

He didn’t involve anyone throughout the process, placing the urn on the passenger seat of his car. Then, he contacted the burial team, preparing to lay Holden to rest.

The burial was set for noon. Ian and other members of the Raymond family waited by the graveside, the harsh midday sun overhead.

It wasn't until the last shovelful of dirt was laid that Ian solemnly knelt down. After bowing his head thrice, he glanced at his grandfather's picture on the tombstone, rose, and left.

The remaining Raymond family members stood still, everyone thinking Ian was too indifferent. He wasn't there for the funeral service, shed no tears in the past few days, and even today, his eyes were dry.

"He's indeed not as compassionate as Eric," one commented.

"I wonder what will happen to the Raymond Corporation now that it's in his hands."

"Carl and Dennis are both gone. Now, who is his match? It would be great if Eric could come back."

"Enough of that. How can a dead man come back?"

The group stood together, all clad in black, discussing how the elder cousin was much better. Ryan watched them with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes.

Back when Eric was alive, they were all green with envy, complaining about how unfair it was for one family to produce two geniuses.

They were dissatisfied with the grandfather's premature decision to declare Eric the heir. But now, they were all reminiscing about Eric.

Looking up at the sky, Ryan let out a sigh.

He was saddened by his grandfather's death but more worried about what his cousin would do next.
