Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1112

Carol felt like she was suffocating. It was unbelievable that somebody had claimed that Maja was heartless.

In the past, when the Pennyfeather family treated Maja poorly, she never dreamed of taking revenge.

When the people of Crystalbrook Valley let her down, all Maja did was cut ties with them.

Maja may appear cold, but she had the softest heart.

Ian, the man Maja had shared a bed with for so long, was now saying such hurtful words.

Carol found it amusing. It seemed like her previous advice to Maja about not falling too deep in a relationship was indeed necessary.

She took a step back, watching as Ian's car drove away.

She took a deep breath, wiped the tears off her face, and rushed towards the scene of the accident.

The place was already in chaos, with plenty of police officers around.

The people jammed behind had no idea how severe the accident was, asking when the road would be cleared.

When Carol reached the blazing car, she saw that the fire was still raging. The police officers who arrived had cordoned off the area, urging the drivers to clear the way for the fire truck. If not, the fire wouldn't be put out anytime soon, and there was a possibility of an explosion.

Carol stood there, feeling weak. The sight of the burning car nearly made her faint.

Her anger and worry made her despise Ian even more for abandoning Maja in such a critical moment.

It made Maja's love seem worthless!

Twenty minutes later, the fire truck arrived and extinguished the fire. The police officers moved forward to inspect the scene only after making sure there was no danger of an explosion.

Carol hurriedly followed.

"There's no one inside. The driver and the passenger probably got out halfway," one of the officers reported.

She covered her mouth, her eyes filled with relief.

The officer turned to her and continued, "We'll check the roadside. They must've left some traces."

Carol was overjoyed, nodding frantically.

She followed the group of officers in her high heels, inspecting the road back. Eventually, they found some bloodstained rocks.

They looked rubbed off by someone.

The officers started asking the bystanders if they had seen a woman.
