Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1118

Maja reached out, clutching his sleeve, but he swiftly shook her off.

She only managed to utter a syllable before he had already moved towards the elevator, as if he didn't recognize her at all.

Dylan, standing next to Maja, deliberated for a moment before revealing, "We're in discussions about an engagement between our families. Ms. Pennyfeather, I suggest you show some discretion."

Dylan's face was cold, his eyes raked over her dismissively. "Your reputation in the city is tarnished. Even for Ian's sake, you should keep your distance."

Then he strode away.

Stunned, Maja remained in place for a moment before she quickly tried to follow.

But the elevator had already closed. Through the slowly closing gap, Ian didn't even glance her way.

His cold detachment was as palpable as the first time they met.

Maja frantically pressed the elevator's down button, but the elevator had already departed. As it was a private elevator, she couldn't ride it.

She rushed to the nearby staff elevator, pressing the button for the first floor as soon as she got in.

But Ian and Dylan were heading for the underground garage.

The presence of the two men in their suits made the elevator space feel even more confined.

Ian stared straight ahead, silent.

Yet his left hand brushed against the right sleeve that Maja had grasped, as if he could still feel the lingering warmth.

Dylan didn't notice this gesture.

Once they reached the underground garage, Ian got into the back seat of a car. Just as the car was about to start, he saw a person from the rearview mirror.

It was Maja.

Maja was still not in great shape. As she descended the stairs, she nearly tripped. When he watched her, his heart gave a jarring leap.

He even instinctively leaned forward.
