Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1119

Ian hadn't expected Judith to suddenly embrace him. He'd just been about to push her away when she let go, tilting her head back to talk to him.

His mind was somewhat foggy, his fingertips still absent-mindedly touching the piece of fabric from before.

After a while, he lowered his hand, hearing Judith ask, “Ian, do you want to grab dinner with me tonight?”

Ian averted his gaze, an image of Maja flashed in his mind, but he quickly discarded it.

“Sure.”

Judith's gaze passed over him, landing on Maja in the distance, her expression full of challenge.

“Sounds good. You can choose the restaurant. Just let me know where.”

Maja knew Judith was just trying to provoke her, and it was working, she was genuinely irritated.

She turned around, retreating back to the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, she leaned against the back wall, feeling exhausted.

When she reached the lobby on the first floor, she ran into Jeff.

Jeff was holding a bouquet of flowers, looking somewhat awkward when he saw her.

“Ms. Pennyfeather.”

Maja knew the flowers weren't for her. They must be for Judith.

She managed a small smile, nodding, and then walked away.

Jeff held the flowers, unsure of what to say.

When he reached the hospital floor, he gave the flowers to another woman in a different room, the wife of a close business associate. The flowers were actually from the associate, Jeff had just brought them along, not expecting to run into Maja.

He went to Judith's room, and when he saw Ian, he said, “I ran into Ms. Pennyfeather.”

Ian thought he had run into her at the Raymond Corporation building, he just nodded, his face expressionless.

“Jeff, find a good restaurant nearby.”

“Are you taking Ms. Sanders out for dinner?”

“Yes.”

Ian's lips were pressed into a thin line, his gaze landing on the piece of fabric from before.

Jeff didn't dare to question him, he immediately started looking for a restaurant.

Ian returned to the Raymond Corporation to continue working, but he couldn't seem to concentrate.

After a while, he went to the Raymond Corporation's surveillance room, pulled up the footage of Maja entering the Raymond Corporation building.

From the moment she entered the lobby, she was calm, not showing a hint of guilt, just like her.

He lit a cigarette, even though the surveillance video was only a few minutes long, he replayed it hundreds of times.
