The moment the woman discovered that her baby could be saved, she burst into tears. Her husband, who had hastily rushed over, supported her back to the hospital room.
The man, with reddened eyes, thanked Maja profusely. He explained that ever since his wife had fallen pregnant, she had been emotionally unstable, frequently breaking down. She had doubted him, fearing that he was lying to her and that their baby wouldn't survive. But now, she trusted Maja, a stranger, and her emotions had significantly stabilized.
Maja observed the woman who was cradled by her husband. Pregnancy was indeed tough, but when her husband had arrived, his hair was disheveled, and his suit was crumpled, likely due to some mishap on his way.
He loved her.
Both their eyes reflected deep affection for each other. When the man saw his wife's tears, he gently wiped them away with the back of his hand.
"Honey, maybe we shouldn't have this baby. I'm not that fond of kids. We could use our savings to travel the world."
"No, I love children. I must keep her."
"Alright, alright. We'll keep her. Just calm down."
Maja stood aside, watching them, suddenly feeling a pang of envy.
When she had been pregnant with her first child, she hadn't even seen Ian's face, let alone their baby's.
She woke one day to the news that her baby was gone. She was forced to get an abortion.
She phoned Ian for help, but he had no patience to listen and hung up cruelly.
That was a thorn in her heart. Even though she liked Ian now, whenever she remembered that incident, it felt as though a stake was driven through her heart.
She stood there until her body was almost rigid. She was brought back to reality when a passerby bumped into her.
She quickly picked up her things, intending to return to the floor where Zoey was.
She had already checked herself. It was just an irregular period due to stress. A few doses of over-the-counter medicine and some rest would set her cycle straight.
This realization made her heave a sigh of relief. As long as she wasn't pregnant, she was fine.
Her steps became lighter.
However, she didn't realize that their conversation had caused a serious misunderstanding for Ian.

Why are there no updates yet, Author. We've all been waitibg for quite a while now. Please, update soon, Author. Thanks....
Author, my thoughts on the book. When are You going to write on Cornelia and Omar Casson's romance? You made no mention, describing in detail how Maja and Uan's white wedding ceremony went. Also, you didn't write on Carol's baby delivery. What about Tyler's romance. Is there closure on Phelps Herrington being truly certified dead, so also his twin brother? Dylan's research institute "little girl", what became of her and Dylan's romance? Beck's blind dates, what were the results, is he married now, so also Dylan to his "little girl"? Why hasn't Ian's father- Steven come forward to meet Maja's parents as the in-laws meeting each other especially with his supposed past with Lillian; Maja's mother. I hope I won't remain curious for too long on the aforementioned issues, Author. Thanks for doing a good job on Zoey and Fitch's romance, though. Kudos....
