Fitch swore he'd never been so embarrassed in his lifetime. He tried explaining to Ian over and over that it was just a statue, but Ian wouldn't listen.
Left with no choice, a tow truck brought Ian and the statue back to Greenfield Gardens together. Ian even cuddled the statue to sleep that night.
Fitch couldn't bear to stay and watch him any longer. Phelps was also worn out by the whole ordeal. They left Jeff to keep an eye on Ian and took off.
The next morning, Ian woke up feeling uncomfortable, as if he'd been weighed down all night.
When he lifted his head, he found himself clutching a hard object. He froze.
He tossed the statue aside, feeling as if someone was trying to harm him. Why else would they use such a heavy statue to crush him? He was nearly suffocated.
He took a deep breath, feeling sore all over.
"Jeff."
He called out, and Jeff, who had been stationed at the door, listening for any sounds from inside, quickly entered.
"Mr. Raymond."
"What's with the statue?"
"Mr. Raymond, you got drunk at the BlueSky Bar last night and insisted on bringing it home."
Jeff tactfully omitted the part where Ian had mistaken the statue for Maja, sparing him some embarrassment.
Ian couldn't recall what he had done, thinking he must have had a wild night, even though he never usually did.
He rubbed his shoulder, which felt so sore that he could barely move it.
As he sluggishly made his way to freshen up, the memory of calling out to the statue began to surface in his mind.
His hand, holding his toothbrush, froze, and he frowned.
After freshening up, he recalled the image of him lamenting over Maja's heartlessness.
Ian felt hot all over, utterly humiliated.
"Jeff, have the statue returned."
Jeff had just finished a phone call, "Mr. Raymond, they said they purchased a new one overnight. If you like it, you can keep it."
Ian was instantly irritated, "I don't like it!"
Jeff quickly made a call to have the statue returned.
As soon as Ian arrived at the Raymond Corporation, Fitch gave him a call.
"Are you still holding onto that statue?"
In a rare mocking tone from Fitch, Ian promptly hung up.

Is author playing with our emotions?...
Why are there no updates yet, Author. We've all been waitibg for quite a while now. Please, update soon, Author. Thanks....
Author, my thoughts on the book. When are You going to write on Cornelia and Omar Casson's romance? You made no mention, describing in detail how Maja and Uan's white wedding ceremony went. Also, you didn't write on Carol's baby delivery. What about Tyler's romance. Is there closure on Phelps Herrington being truly certified dead, so also his twin brother? Dylan's research institute "little girl", what became of her and Dylan's romance? Beck's blind dates, what were the results, is he married now, so also Dylan to his "little girl"? Why hasn't Ian's father- Steven come forward to meet Maja's parents as the in-laws meeting each other especially with his supposed past with Lillian; Maja's mother. I hope I won't remain curious for too long on the aforementioned issues, Author. Thanks for doing a good job on Zoey and Fitch's romance, though. Kudos....
