"Maja, I don't care what the hell you've taught Cornelia, but you've got to put her back on the straight and narrow, or I swear I'll end you."
Omar's tone was venomous.
Maja had no doubt that if she refused, Omar would not hesitate to pull a gun on her.
So she remained silent, casting a mocking glance as the car sped toward the hotel.
It wasn't until they reached the hotel lobby and the receptionist treated Omar with the utmost respect that Maja realized why Omar knew about Cornelia and Antonio's secret rendezvous. The hotel was owned by none other than the Casson family.
It was like a stab in the heart.
From the moment Cornelia had decided to abort her child, Maja knew that this woman was capable of great things.
Omar, holding the room keycard, stepped into the elevator, his expression noticeably off-kilter.
Maja stood by his side, noting his trembling fingers that missed the elevator buttons multiple times.
She thought, "Served him right, the bastard deserved this."
Maja watched coldly, making no attempt to assist.
It took Omar a solid ten minutes to finally hit the right floor button.
Upon reaching the Presidential Suite where Cornelia was staying, he raised his hand to swipe the keycard open the door.
But he didn't dare.
Cornelia had already faced death once, and now Omar had his reservations.
He began to worry that his constant pressure would only push her further away, but he couldn't stand the thought of her entangled with another man.
They might be inside that room right now, on the windowsill, or in the bathroom, just like she used to be with him.
Cornelia used to wrap her arms around his neck, promising to marry him.
The depth of her affection was so evident, Omar was certain that no matter how far he strayed, she would always forgive him.
He hesitated for three minutes before handing the keycard to Maja.
"Maja, you do it."
Maja promptly tossed the keycard back at him. "I'm not doing your dirty work."
The keycard hit the wall with a thwap.
Omar immediately grabbed Maja by the throat, his face livid.
"Are you asking for a death wish?"
Before he could finish his sentence, the door swung open and Cornelia, clad in a nightgown, stood in the doorway.
Upon seeing Omar choking Maja, Cornelia's eyes narrowed. She grabbed a nearby vase and hurled it at Omar's head.
Omar didn't have the chance to dodge, or more accurately, his mind went blank the moment he saw her.
The vase shattered against his head, and blood began to ooze.
He released Maja, staring blankly at Cornelia.
Cornelia, however, didn't spare him a glance as she rushed over to Maja.

Is author playing with our emotions?...
Why are there no updates yet, Author. We've all been waitibg for quite a while now. Please, update soon, Author. Thanks....
Author, my thoughts on the book. When are You going to write on Cornelia and Omar Casson's romance? You made no mention, describing in detail how Maja and Uan's white wedding ceremony went. Also, you didn't write on Carol's baby delivery. What about Tyler's romance. Is there closure on Phelps Herrington being truly certified dead, so also his twin brother? Dylan's research institute "little girl", what became of her and Dylan's romance? Beck's blind dates, what were the results, is he married now, so also Dylan to his "little girl"? Why hasn't Ian's father- Steven come forward to meet Maja's parents as the in-laws meeting each other especially with his supposed past with Lillian; Maja's mother. I hope I won't remain curious for too long on the aforementioned issues, Author. Thanks for doing a good job on Zoey and Fitch's romance, though. Kudos....
