Antonia had already stood up, her gaze on Maja filled with a fearless defiance.
"Maja, I've laid my cards on the table. The ball's in your court."
This was a threat.
Maja said nothing until Antonia left. Only then did she lift her coffee cup, taking a sip.
Those who were in abject desperation always were capable of doing anything outrageous . If Antonia's matter wasn't handled properly, the company would be influenced by her in the foreseeable future.
A mocking smile appeared in her eyes. She did feel sorry for Antonia, who had given up her career to take care of her sick child at home, only for her husband to sire a healthy son with another woman. Anybody would crumble under such circumstances.
But Antonia directed all her anger at the outside world, never daring to openly criticize her husband in front of others.
Deep down, she was still hoping for him to come back. Otherwise, she could have ruined him by herself. Why take such a roundabout path?
But she didn't do that. Instead, she chose to drag others down to fulfill her so-called love.
Her love-struck mind was beyond salvation.
When Maja saw the red string on Antonia's wrist, she knew that even if she helped ruin Antonia’s husband, Antonia wouldn't be happy. She would think Maja had destroyed her husband.
If she truly hated that man, she wouldn't have kept the red string on her wrist for so long.
Maja massaged between her eyebrows. This was going to be troublesome.
After leaving, Antonia immediately called Linda.
Upon seeing the incoming call, Linda sneered and answered.
"Did you hang up on me earlier. You don't want the money anymore?"
Antonia's face was a mix of embarrassment, and at the same time, she resented Maja.
Maja's aloof attitude was unbearable. Both Linda and Maja looked down on her. If that's the case, then to hell with them all!
Her eyes were filled with venom, but her words were weak.
"Miss Linda, I made a mistake. I almost fell for Maja's tricks. She's exactly as you described, a disgusting woman."

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
