Maja's hands were tightly clasping a mop, guided by a voice in her earpiece, she moved around without bumping into anyone, her head bowed as she continued mopping the floor in front of her.
"Ian's watching you."
Her whole body stiffened as she heard the whisper in her ear, and her eyes instantly reddened.
She fought hard to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes.
Ian recognized her, the waitress from earlier, Ryan had mentioned something about her eyes, but she seemed perfectly fine now.
Maybe it was the dim lighting in here, but for a fleeting moment, he saw Maja's silhouette within the shadow cast from the outside.
The voice continued to speak in Maja's ear.
"It's time. You've stayed long enough. It's time to go back. You have half an hour left before you need to take your medication."
Maja walked past Ian, holding the mop.
But they didn't brush shoulders. They were two meters apart, like two parallel lines, missing each other.
Ian lit another cigarette, his gaze following Maja until she disappeared from his sight. Amid the haze of smoke, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent.
His heart skipped a beat, and he looked up in the direction Maja had disappeared.
The lit end of the cigarette trembled slightly between his fingers as he suddenly rushed after her.
Meanwhile, the man's voice was still speaking in Maja's earpiece.
"Maja, you're going the wrong way."
Maja was now in a crowded place. She couldn't see, but her hearing was incredibly sharp.
"Mr. K, I really hate that I've become Ian's weakness. You've figured out my character, knowing I wouldn't acknowledge him in this situation. I don't want him to see me in my current state. I don't want people to know I've lost my sight."
"I won't acknowledge him. I'm living a mistake. In twenty minutes, I'll be dead, I've decided to die here in the BlueSky Bar, as an unknown. Soon, the people here will take me away, treat me as if I'm just another piece of trash. Goodbye, Mr. K."
Her voice was flat, as if she wasn't worried about her own life at all.
The man's voice became serious, "What about Ian, what if you die?"
"He'll just think I've disappeared. He hasn't seen my body. He'll continue to search. As long as he hasn't seen my body, he'll think I'm still alive."
She was running aimlessly in the crowd, just hoping the twenty minutes would end soon.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
