Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1286

Murray was so furious that his eyes were rimmed in red, wanting nothing more than to brand the word 'whore' on Zoey's face.

Zoey found it all rather amusing, wondering what authority this man thought he had to accuse her of anything.

Without wasting words, she raised her hand to close the door, but Murray swiftly bypassed her and entered the room.

The scent in the room had mostly faded, but her clothes from the previous night were still strewn by the window, revealing the nature of the evening's activities.

The clothes she was now wearing were her own.

In a tone of contempt, Murray pointed to the window, "He really did a number on you, didn't he?"

His words were a direct affront to her dignity.

Zoey raised her hand to slap him, but this time, Murray caught her wrist.

"Did I say something wrong? If you're brave enough to stoop so low, then don't be afraid of being exposed, Zoey. I'll tell your mother straight away that you're selling yourself."

Zoey's face turned pale. She had worked hard over the years, paying hefty sums to buy back some semblance of familial affection. She couldn't let Murray ruin it all now.

"Get out," she demanded.

Murray smirked, his gaze raking over her figure.

"I guess your man wasn't all that, otherwise, how would you still have the energy to yell at me? Evelyn is always so tired after our encounters. She doesn't have the energy to argue. Zoey, if you're ever in need of a man, you can always come back to me. Whatever he's paying you, I can match."

Zoey felt a wave of nausea. Once again, she regretted her past blindness.

She took a deep breath.

"He paid $300,000. Can you match that?"
