"What do you mean 'specifically controls people with high IQ'?"
"These types of people are usually resilient, but after a few days under the influence of this drug, they break down. In about ten days, they turn into absolute lunatics. If this is the drug we're dealing with, then someone from the research lab has found Maja."
A sparkle danced in Patric's eyes, his lips curling into a smirk.
He could sense the dark undertone in Eric's voice when he mentioned the research lab.
Not fear, but bitterness. It was clear that Eric wanted revenge for what he had endured at the lab.
"Patric, pass on what I've said to them."
"No way, Eric. You and Ian must be crazy if you think I'd help you."
A hint of satisfaction laced Patric's voice as he reached for a glass of water.
But before he could take a sip, Ian swatted the glass away.
"You can't figure it out, and you're wasting water? It's not free, you know."
His tone was icy and his expression hostile, "Keep checking."
If it weren't for the fact that he couldn't defeat Ian in Greenfield, he would have killed this man on the spot.
He took a deep breath.
"There's no hope. This is likely a drug from the research base, specifically designed for resilient people like Maja. She can only hold on for ten days at most before she turns into a lunatic. Only the person who administered the drug can reverse its effects. No one else can. The research base is where all the medical geniuses of the world congregate. The things they produce cannot be deciphered by a single genius."
"So, I take Maja for a check-up, and based on the residual substances in her body, you develop an antidote."
"Ian, I've told you. A single genius cannot decipher it. Besides, there's probably no trace of the drug left in her body. That's the terrifying thing about those people. And most importantly, this kind of drug isn't something that just anyone can get their hands on at the research base. It's restricted to the higher-ups. It seems that the person targeting Maja is quite powerful."
Ian's face suddenly paled.
He was confident when it came to business negotiations and boxing matches.
But medicine was a field he knew nothing about. Even after what Eric had said, was there really no hope?
Seeing his grim expression, Patric felt a surge of satisfaction.
"Whoever administered the drug, take Maja to them. Otherwise, she'll only become a lunatic by your side. Can you bear that? Also, the destructive power of this drug is reversible in the short term. But if it's left untreated for too long, it may become irreversible. It seems that man is waiting for you to compromise."

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
