Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1322

She was wearing a sundress today, with a light cardigan draped over her shoulders.

When Omar saw her approaching, it felt as if she was tiptoeing on his heart with each step.

He had been longing to meet her recently, but Cornelia had cut him off, and she had done it so completely.

She was publicly linked to a new boyfriend, the chart-topping singer Antonio. Everyone online was speculating when they would break up, yet the two kept flaunting their love on Twitter.

Omar had been doing his homework on pop culture, and his assistant informed him that what they were doing was called 'showmance'. Now, Cornelia and Antonio were tied together in the public eye.

"Cornelia."

He reached out, pulling her into his embrace, and buried his head greedily in the scent of her.

Cornelia used not to wear perfume, but now there was always a fragrance about her.

"What perfume is that today?"

"It's custom-made. Do you like it?"

They didn't seem like a couple who had fallen out at all.

Cornelia knew she had to offer him something in return if she wanted his help.

"It's nice."

"I need a favor. I heard Fitch had an accident. Could you find out if he's really gone? What exactly happened the night he drove out?"

If it were anyone else asking for Omar's help, they'd have to sweet-talk him and then wait on his response.

But Cornelia was calm, sitting in his lap, smiling up at him.

"This is important to me."

Omar tightened his grip around her waist, meeting her gaze.

In the past, she used to look at him with those very eyes, then gently tug at his arm, "Omar, please?"

But the Cornelia of now wouldn't speak to him with that tone anymore.

In her eyes, he was Mr. Casson, someone who could offer her convenience, no longer the man who once shared whispers and closeness in a cramped room.

His hands trembled as he blinked, one arm still firmly around her waist.

"Mr. Casson, will you help me? If not, maybe you could pass me the number of that Olson family patriarch you know. I wonder if he might be interested in my company."
