Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1325

Zoey stared at her phone in disbelief. Just last night, as she was leaving the hospital, Tyler had confirmed the worst: Fitch was gone. Now, this cryptic message was suggesting he was somehow still alive?

Cornelia's voice on the other end of the call brought her back to the present.

"Zoey, it's Mr. Raymond who requested you to take care of Fitch. How do you know him?"

Her heart skipped a beat, and she tightened her grip on the phone. "I've met him a few times through work," she managed to say.

Cornelia didn't seem suspicious. After all, as Maja's personal assistant, Zoey had attended countless galas and events. It wasn't unusual for her to cross paths with someone like Fitch.

"Zoey, it's getting late. You should drive over now; it'll probably take until around 10 PM. There will be someone to meet you. Besides you and Fitch, only a doctor will visit the villa. Mr. Raymond has made it clear that this is to be kept from everyone."

"Including Tyler?"

"Yes, everyone."

"Got it. I understand."

Trust was a currency that flowed freely among the Star Movie group. They were like a family.

Without a word, Zoey handed off her tasks to Elvis, who simply nodded and reminded her, "Stay safe."

Rushing home to pack five sets of clothes for herself and then shopping for a week's worth of men's attire for Fitch, Zoey drove to the secluded villa. She arrived at half-past ten to find a security guard waiting. Once he verified her identity, she was allowed through the gates.

The villa was silent as she entered, the code to the door having been sent directly to her phone. Zoey found Fitch upstairs in the master bedroom, bandaged from head to chest, alone and vulnerable. It was a side of him she'd never seen before.

She had always feared Maja finding out about her entanglement with Fitch, a man from the esteemed Haskins family. Their connection was a mistake, one that she had initiated but couldn't seem to end. The rule for survival around Fitch was simple: obey and don't resist. Eventually, he would tire of her and let her go.

After ensuring Fitch was comfortable, she took stock of the kitchen, noted the location of the nearest supermarket, and was firmly told that all her needs would be met without having to leave the villa for security reasons.
