Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1327

Maja didn't scream in pain, probably because that peculiar pool had toughened her up. After enduring the agony of feeling like a thousand needles were jabbing at her body, a mere pinprick to the finger seemed trivial.

It was like being stung by a bee.

Leaning against the chaise lounge, her back slick with cold sweat, her eyelids slowly drooped.

When K visited the next day, he sensed a chill in her demeanor.

Before, when she couldn't dodge his lash, she'd at least retort, but today she had been silent, save for the occasional muffled groan.

Maja figured she must be ill; after spending some time as a mute, not speaking didn't feel so torturous.

But the desire to claim that coveted position was more urgent than ever.

To grow stronger, to seize power.

There were many counting on her—she couldn't fall here.

After another lash sent her tumbling to the ground, K stepped forward to help her up but stopped, remembering her silence. He frowned.

"Maja, are you giving me the silent treatment?" he asked.

Rubbing the spot where she'd fallen, Maja stood up and braced herself for the next crack of the whip.

K narrowed his eyes and swung harder.

She dodged nimbly, missing the tricky blow.

Surprised, he whipped again.

This time she wasn't as agile and stumbled, the tail of the whip coiling around her waist.

K dropped the whip and approached, studying her face closely.

"You're quicker today. Remembering your old days with the Holy Daughter, are you?"

Maja remained silent, standing tall and defiant.

002 was nearby, watching with a smirk as K's expression soured.

She knew why Maja kept quiet—it was a necessity.

Did this wretch think she could just waltz in and take the leader's seat? Dream on.

K inhaled deeply. "002, take her for breakfast."

002 nodded and coldly helped Maja up.

Maja's world was a blur of shadows, no different from being blind.

Once at the table, 002 unceremoniously dumped Maja's food into the trash.

"You think you deserve to eat? Starve, for all I care. I want you to feel my wrath today!"

Maja sat, her face etched with scorn.
