Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1335

Zoey felt her heart pounding like a jackhammer, her instinct was to turn away, but she caught his words, “Why run? If I wanted to kiss you, it’s only a matter of time.”

She wanted to argue, to push back against his advances, but his lips descended once more, tangling her in a vine-like embrace that left her breathless.

When she finally got the chance to speak, she turned her head.

“Mr. Haskins, I was worried you’d blame me. You never used to kiss me.”

As she spoke, a sour sting pinched at her nose.

Maybe it’s a woman’s folly, she thought. A guy was willing to share with you a bed but never a kiss, even a fervent plea for one in a moment of passion would be coldly refused.

It was embarrassing, shaming.

It mattered to her, though she kept telling herself it shouldn't.

“I’ve never kissed you?” Fitch echoed, disbelief coloring his voice.

How come he was that kind of man?

Tears sprang to Zoey’s eyes, a silent testament to her feelings of injustice.

Fitch knelt on one knee beside her bed, pulling her up.

His fingertip traced her lips, “Never here?”

She nodded.

His touch wandered lower, to places more intimate.

“Here, perhaps?”

Her cheeks flamed with a blush. Impossible. Fitch wouldn’t do that.

Seeing her reaction, he had her answer.

“Do you despise my kisses?”

Zoey’s body had long adapted to him. Past encounters with other men had left her nauseous, but with him, she found pleasure. Once, she longed to kiss him when she was lost in desire, but only to be rebuffed. It felt like being doused with cold water.

She shook her head.

His hand pressed against the back of her skull, and his lips claimed hers.

Words were unnecessary; the searing kiss was overwhelming.

For the first time, Zoey felt the depths of a passionate kiss. Her face was aflame, her hands uncertain where to rest.

Their usual intimacy was always the same, with her in a position of humiliation, face down, him unable to see her face.

Now, she felt like she would melt into his kiss, her mind awash with blooming flowers, her cheeks hotter by the second.

Just as she felt she might suffocate, he released her, and stared deeply and intensely at her flushed face.

He scooped her up forcefully into his arms, carrying her to his bed.

Zoey felt scalded by his warmth, her body involuntarily trembling.

“Wait, don’t.”

As she felt almost suffocated by the kissing again, his kisses started to travel lower. Though she felt an urge to scream, she just blankly stared at the ceiling and let herself get lost in a tempestuous sea.
