Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1339

After handing over the prescription bottle, Tyler immediately went to look for the wealthy heir who had joked about Phelps's mole earlier.

He tried calling the guy, but no one picked up.

In a rush, Tyler drove to the dude's mansion, only to be told he hadn't come back from the club yet.

With no other choice, Tyler started dialing up his fair-weather friends one by one, and finally, he got a lead on where he might be.

He was last seen at the BlueSky Bar, but had left alone about ten minutes ago.

Tyler floored it to the BlueSky Bar, hoping to grill the bouncer about when exactly the guy had taken off.

"It was about ten minutes ago," the bouncer said, "He took a call and just left."

Tyler felt a knot twist in his gut. He was about to check the surrounding security cameras when the wealthy heir's family called him.

"My son's dead. He's been hit by a semi-truck."

Tyler felt like he'd been plunged into an ice bath. Was it an accident or was it something more sinister?

Was it too coincidental that the guy was hit just as Tyler was closing in on him.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, a doctor who was about to run tests on Tyler's bottle got interrupted by the director and was told that Phelps was at the hospital at this moment.

"Dr. Herrington at our hospital?" he blurted.

"You forgot about it? The chief scheduled him last month to come here and perform a live surgery tutorial. Everyone's going, including you."

The doctor nodded reluctantly, pocketing the bottle and following the others.

Dr. Herrington had already started his lecture, his voice suave and sophisticated. His movie-star looks made the female doctors all swoon with him.

Two hours later, the lecture ended.

As Dr. Herrington made his way out, the doctor remembered something urgent and quickly caught up to him, asking about a complication that could arise during surgery.

Dr. Herrington answered without hesitation and before he was about to leave, he noticed the doctor taking out the prescription bottle.

He paused, but the doctor didn't notice anything amiss and asked a passing nurse about using some equipment.

"I need to use that machine now, it's free, right? Great, I'll head over."

Just as the doctor was about to leave, Dr. Herrington's voice called out.

"Are you going to test that bottle?"
