Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1418

The car rolled to a halt in the subterranean fight club's parking lot, and Ian, with unwavering resolve, carried her up to the seventh floor.

As Maja rested her chin on his shoulder, she could sense the stormy aura emanating from him.

Once he gently laid her on the bed, Ian retreated to the bathroom to draw a bath.

However, he was so lost in thought that he failed to notice the hot water spilling over the edges of the tub.

It wasn't until Maja glanced at the clock, wondering why Ian had been in the bathroom for an eternity, that she discovered the minor flood he had inadvertently caused.

Jolted back to reality, Ian scrambled to turn off the tap, his movements clumsy and rushed.

Maja stood at the bathroom doorway and announced, "You know, soaking in the tub isn't recommended during pregnancy. I think I'll skip the bath tonight."

Ian stiffened at her words, drained the tub, and asked, "Should you take your prenatal vitamins then?"

Her silence sent a shiver of dread through him.

He had no right to press her on this matter—he knew how much she loved him, and he also realized that the timing for a child couldn't be worse.

But his selfishness prevailed. He wanted this baby so badly.

Adjusting the shower to a comfortable temperature, Ian offered, "Maja, your robe's right there. Go ahead and shower. I'll use the one next door."

She nodded, her gaze lingering on his drenched clothes as he left.

Stripping off her own garments, Maja stepped under the warm spray, her mind racing with thoughts of the address Eric had given her, the BK, and the research facility that could pose a significant threat to them.

She hadn't found Lillian yet. There was so much left undone. Perhaps K would exploit the news of her pregnancy.

She sighed softly and turned off the water.

Next door, Ian was equally consumed by turbulent thoughts. He didn't even know how to react if Maja decided she didn't want the child.

After his shower, Ian reentered the room to find Maja sitting on the bed, flipping through a book half-heartedly.

"Ian, did you inform my mentor of my return?" she asked without looking up.

"I did. He's still clueless about the Sanders family's intentions."
