Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1505

The car sped through the night; all around the landscape was illuminated by bursts of flames and punctuated by the echo of distant sobs.

Patrick had single-handedly turned the entirety of Inner Island into a living hell.

Maja leaned into Ian's embrace, feeling the rise and fall of his chest, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.

Ian held her in silence, his hand gently patting her back in a soothing rhythm.

They reached the spot where Oliver had been waiting for them, and found him standing in the yard, staring into the fiery horizon.

His eyes went wide with shock at the sight of Ian.

"Man, I thought you were a goner!"

He rushed forward, and upon seeing that Ian was unscathed, he let out a sigh of relief.

Ian glanced skyward, and Oliver followed his gaze.

Helicopters were swarming above, but their allegiance was unknown.

"Oliver, get in the car. We're running out of time."

Without hesitation, Oliver swung open the car door and hopped in.

Chaos reigned in Inner Island, and as a result, the road to Outer Island was eerily deserted.

Ian floored the accelerator and barreled through all the checkpoints, leaving them in tatters.

When the roadblocks crumbled, those who had longed to venture into Middle Island or Inner Island saw their chance, and swarmed toward the breach.

The citizens of Outer Island were desperate to get into Middle Island, and those from Middle Island were aimed for Inner Island.

The once empty streets were now teeming with a mass of people rushing inward, as though the apocalypse was nigh.

Oliver, sitting by the window, watched the desperate crowd with a cynical smile.

"It's like a siege, isn't it? Those outside want in, and those inside are dying to get out."

He closed his eyes after speaking.

Ian parked at the South District Mental Hospital.

Someone was already there waiting for them and quickly led them inside.

As the door opened, a dozen or so people in white coats were bound and sitting on the floor.
