"Professor, why would the higher-ups ever let a medical prodigy like her go? The research base needs her."
Isaac took a slow sip of his tea, her tone laced with confusion.
"I still can't wrap my head around it. How did Cynthia manage to leave back then? Even Summer didn't have the clout to pull that off. And I'm quite curious about Summer. His rank in the base isn't all that high, not like the top brass anyway. He's more or less on the same level as me."
She was just one of the core members of the base, not quite in the inner circle of power. If she couldn't let someone go, how could Summer possibly have the influence?
Philip couldn't involve himself in these matters, but he listened intently.
Isaac rubbed her temples in frustration, "And this Sarah has been butting heads with me; she even outright rejected your nomination for chairman over the phone in the rudest way."
Sarah had the favor of the higher-ups and could almost do as she pleased at the base. Isaac dared not cross her currently. Her only option was to vent in the privacy of her own room.
Philip remained silent. He rarely saw Sarah; she spent most of her time in the labs. If only he could communicate with this Sarah, maybe he could get his hands on that weapon.
"Professor, have the higher-ups come to a conclusion about the whereabouts of the weapon?"
"No, that weapon is too dangerous. It's up to the chairpersons now. If they don't want it, and neither do the core members, I might be able to pull some strings for you."
"Thank you, Professor," with that, Philip stood, ready to take his leave.
At that moment, Phil walked in to assist Isaac with her nightly routine.
Philip had never thought much of it until the next morning when he saw Phil leaving Isaac's room. It was 5:30 AM, which meant Phil had been there all night. What had he been doing?
Phil was caught off guard by Philip's presence, his eyes briefly flickering with surprise before he greeted him, "Philip."
"Why are you coming out of the professor's room?"
"I've been staying with her."
"Staying with her? What do you mean?"
A bad feeling started to take root in Philip's mind, and it grew as Phil said, "Just some...reproduction stuff. The professor, she likes it."

Is author playing with our emotions?...
Why are there no updates yet, Author. We've all been waitibg for quite a while now. Please, update soon, Author. Thanks....
Author, my thoughts on the book. When are You going to write on Cornelia and Omar Casson's romance? You made no mention, describing in detail how Maja and Uan's white wedding ceremony went. Also, you didn't write on Carol's baby delivery. What about Tyler's romance. Is there closure on Phelps Herrington being truly certified dead, so also his twin brother? Dylan's research institute "little girl", what became of her and Dylan's romance? Beck's blind dates, what were the results, is he married now, so also Dylan to his "little girl"? Why hasn't Ian's father- Steven come forward to meet Maja's parents as the in-laws meeting each other especially with his supposed past with Lillian; Maja's mother. I hope I won't remain curious for too long on the aforementioned issues, Author. Thanks for doing a good job on Zoey and Fitch's romance, though. Kudos....
