Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1559

Sarah ignored the sycophantic murmurs around her and made her way to a select few individuals.

These people stood motionless, their minds seemingly adrift, like scarecrows in a field.

Her gaze, one of approval, eventually rested on Ian.

"Doctor, is there a problem?"

She flicked her finger casually, "Have him come with me."

The man beside her looked visibly uncomfortable. Normally, personnel weren't allowed to move between zones. That Sarah could do so was a privilege from the higher-ups. Now she wanted to take someone else with her, and that was.

"Hmm?" Her tone was commanding, causing beads of sweat to form on the man's forehead.

Quickly bowing his head, he chuckled nervously, "Sure, sure, if it's a request from you, Doctor, I'll have him come with you right away."

Her voice was light, almost breezy, but her intent was unmistakable, "I want him now."

The man's face showed his struggle, but in the end, he stayed silent.

As Ian walked beside Sarah, a glint of cold intent passed through his eyes. It seemed she had a high status in this research base, and having the chance to be escorted to another zone could be advantageous.

They passed through a couple of corridors, each tier abundant with instruments designed to verify identities.

Sarah led him all the way to the heart of the laboratory. Ian was still in his protective suit when she asked, "Can you read?"

This Sarah spoke his language, and even with a flawless accent at that.

"Yes."

"Pass me the reagents, and I'll arrange a place for you to sleep tonight," after that, she fell silent.

Ian cooperated, passing her the reagents she needed. Half an hour later, she took a call. It appeared to be from one of the high-ranking officials at the base, inquiring why she was taking someone across different zones.
