Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1760

Bernard's job was shrouded in secrecy, a common trait among those of his particular profession. When he reached his destination, he rapped on the door with a sense of urgency.

Bernard, dressed in casual wear, answered the door with a welcoming smile at the sight of Ian.

"So, you've retrieved the base intel? The higher-ups have been considering a reward for you—a privilege. What's on your wish list?"

A privilege?

Ian had everything that came with his position. A smirk played at the corner of his lips. "So, I can ask for anything?"

"Absolutely. The intel is crucial. Even those penny pinchers have to cough up some sort of bounty."

"Then let's book the Grand Hall for a wedding. Maja and I are going to tie the knot there."

Bernard, who had been pouring tea, froze, his brows knitting together in surprise. The Grand Hall was typically reserved for elite assemblies and was never open to the public, let alone for wedding ceremonies.

If Ian pulled this off, he'd be setting a precedent.

Bernard chuckled. "Here I was, thinking you'd ask for something to pad your retirement fund."

"The kid's not even born yet. Maja and I can wait. But if we could do it there, it would be quite the event. She'd love it."

The Grand Hall was a relic from a past era, once a place where emperors convened. Its ancient charm would make for an exquisite wedding venue.

Bernard massaged his temples. "Shouldn't be a problem. You can have it for a month."

"Bernard, it's a deal. But is this what you called me here for?"

"No, it's about Patric. My guys spotted him in North America. You know the fight clubs there are your turf. You're the best at tracking people down. Find Patric and bring him to me. We've got some questions about the experimental data."

Ian didn't protest. He was the one who had taken Patric in the first place.

"Bernard, did the old timers say what they're gonna do with Patric?"
