Felix, you can still back out now, man. You've heard Listina crying. You could never stand to see her cry before. Remember? You used to hustle day and night just to buy her all sorts of gifts. You said you loved her, that you wanted to take care of her for life. What you're doing now, how's that any different from being a total jerk?"
Felix cracked a smile at that moment. "Nathan, you think I treated Listina well?"
"Of course, man. You've been nothing short of amazing to her. That's why you two are like a match made in heaven."
"I'd move mountains to get her whatever she wanted, no matter how pricey or, in my eyes, pointless, because I felt I had to be good to her. It was like a debt the Brown family owed her. Honestly, a lot of her demands were pretty unreasonable. Back in college, she had a taste for designer labels, and I'd work extra shifts to get them for her, even handed over my scholarship money the moment it came in. Being good to her became a habit, something I just assumed was my duty. I really wanted to take care of her."
He took a swig of his drink, swirling the glass in his hand.
"When she got sick, I took on multiple jobs to cover the medical bills, and even got mixed up with some shady loan sharks. I always thought that if my mom were still around, she'd probably say I was doing right by her. I mean, I was giving it my all. What more could I do to make it up to her?"
"So, that's why you should marry Listina, dude. You guys love each other, you've been together since you were kids, and she's head over heels for you. If you go through with the wedding tomorrow, what's that gonna do to her, huh?"
"In an ideal world, yeah, I should marry Listina."
"Then why the hell..."
Nathan was about to press on but was cut off by Felix's next words.
"Why am I marrying Carol?"
That was the question on everyone's lips in their circle.
Every time he met with business partners, they'd ask what he planned to do about Carol.
Everyone thought his marrying Carol was some twisted way to shame her.
No one believed that he could actually have feelings for her.
That bitter pill was his to swallow alone because no one would believe him if he said it out loud.
Felix was the only one in the whole world who knew that he had fallen for Carol.
"Just think of it as me wanting to get back at her," he said, tugging at his tie.
If he confessed his feelings to Carol now, she'd think he was crazy, that he was gross.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
