Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1840

Maybe it was because she had adopted a "screw it" attitude, but right now, she wasn't the least bit scared of any reprisal from him.

She sat in the car, watching him approach step by step.

Felix reached her car door and yanked it open with a swift pull.

Carol always thought his eyes were red, as if he had cried.

But that was impossible. Felix, that sneaky devil, cry?

She was yanked out of the car.

She could hear his breathing heavy, and his chest heaving.

His eyes, now bloodshot, stared intently into hers, and finally, he grasped her wrist tightly and pulled her toward a car parked in the distance.

At this moment, Nathan got out of his vehicle, ready to intervene.

But Felix was quick, kicking Nathan away with a swift blow.

Nathan hit the ground hard, barely suppressing the urge to vomit blood.

Carol's wrist throbbed with pain, and she couldn't help but yell, "Let go, I don't want to marry you!"

"You don't want the settlement either?"

"Felix, you're never this kind-hearted. You're a scoundrel, a devil. You'd even use a child in your schemes. How can I ever trust you?"

He wouldn't actually give her a settlement; he just wanted to toy with her until she broke.

Felix's grip suddenly loosened; it felt like his whole body was struck by paralysis.

He tried to smile but couldn't.

He just let his mouth droop.

"You're right, I'm a scoundrel. Seems like you've figured out you're pregnant."

Carol's pupils shrank, and she bit her lip hard.

He stepped closer, gently tucking her disheveled hair behind her ear.

"Cut the drama, let's go back and have a proper wedding. Don't stress the baby."

He had his voice softened, completely ignoring Nathan who was crumpled to the side.

"I'm willing to be used by her! What's it to you?!"

He slowly got to his feet, rubbing his chest.

Carol's lips curled at his words.

"You see, he quite fancies me. I was shallow before, only chasing after what I liked. Now I've realized, I want someone who loves me to death."

Felix tightened his hold on her instantly, and said with a hoarse voice: "Then why didn't you come to me?"

Carol was ready to continue her tirade, but his words left her speechless.

Her face turned somber, "What do you mean?"

Felix didn't answer, continuing his march toward the distant helicopter.

Carol took a deep breath, suddenly feeling it was all pointless.

"You're taking me back just to use my unborn child to threaten me. You won't let me go because you're afraid I'll come back for revenge one day. Felix, I'm tired. Just let me go, can't I promise to stay far away from you?"

He definitely planned to hand the child over to Listina to raise. A monster like him would surely do such a thing.
