The moment the door shut, Maja collapsed onto the couch. 

Being tortured by Ms. Raymond had left her drained. Seeing lan’s back full of wounds had only added to her stress. 

She wondered when this rough lie would finally end. 

lan had been working in his room for a while. He couldn’t lie down because of the wounds on his back, so he decided to work through the night. 

When he stepped out in the middle of the night, he saw Maja leaning on the couch, looking very well–behaved. 

He frowned. He thought their night together was long over. After tonight, they needed to keep their distance. 

His aunt was right. If his grandpa knew about her existence, it could affect the studio. 

He looked at her sleeping face. 

She had a small face. When she closed her eyes, her gentle aura disappeared, making her look weak and innocent. 

She was practically bubbling with sweetness when she was on the phone with her husband earlier. 

It seems Tyler was overthinking before. She has expressed her deep love for her husband several times. That night probably didn’t leave any mark on her. After all, she and her husband have had countless nights like that one. 

lan’s breathing became uneven. He grabbed a glass of water from the table and took a sip. 

But it was only after he drank it that he realized it was her glass. There was even a lipstick mark on the rim. 

He frowned, put down the glass, and went straight into his room. 

The next morning, when Maja woke up, lan was already sitting on the couch. 

She quickly rubbed her eyes, straightened up, and glanced at the clock on the wall. 

It was only six o’clock. Did he wake up this early even on his day off? 

“Mr. Raymond?” 

Her voice was soft since she had just woken up. 

lan didn’t look at her, just answered and put away his files. 

Maja rushed into the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out, she asked softly, “Mr. Raymond, what do you want for breakfast? I’ll get it from downstairs. Also, is your wound getting infected? Maybe you should see a doctor today.” 

lan opened another file, and upon hearing this, he simply said, “I’ll have whatever.” 

Maja opened the door to go downstairs for breakfast. 

But when she got to the hotel’s dining hall, she saw Tricia Pennyfeather already waiting there. 

She raised her eyebrows, her eyes turning cold. 

Tricia didn’t expect to see her there. She immediately felt awkward. 

“How come…” 

Why was Maja at the hotel where lan was staying? 

Tricia often waited at places where lan would show up, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. 

She always believed her sincerity could move lan. 

But now she saw Maja. 

Was she with lan again? 

Her eyes flashed coldly, and in the next moment, she put on a weak smile. 

“Maja, were you at the hotel last night too?”
