Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 215

Chapter 215

lan took a deep breath, the icy atmosphere intensifying on his sharp-featured face.

Maria could tell these two men were no pushovers. So, like a frightened bird, she followed them

“Holden, Ms. Pennyfeather is running a fever. She’s taken her medicines and gone to sleep,” she said.

No sooner had she finished speaking than Holden ordered her to open Maja’s room door

Maria obediently did as told, then stood to the side respectfully.

Holden gave lan a stem look. “Aren’t you going in to check on her? You told me you’d try harder. Were you lying?”

A shiver ran through lan’s brows. After receiving a phone call, he couldn’t figure out why Holden insisted on coming to Rosewood Manor

He entered Maja’s room, but before he could say a word, the door shut behind him!

lan’s face darkened instantly, his gaze as cold as ice

Holden ordered Maria to lock the door, and Maria, not daring to defy him, locked it promptly.

Through the door, Holden said, “lan, take good care of Maja You two have been sleeping separately. You didn’t even avenge Maja when she was bullied. Don’t think you can keep fooling me. Maja’s too kind. She even defended you. Tonight, you two will sleep in the same room!”

Inside, lan stood ramrod straight, his gaze as sharp as a knife.

On the bed, Maja was sweating buckets, too.

She hadn’t expected Holden to lock lan in the room.

She quietly covered her head with the quilt, shutting herself off completely.

lan snorted coldly and sat down on the single-seater sofa, his gaze fixed on the bed.

“Stop pretending,” he said, disgust tingeing his tone.

He believed this woman had feigned illness to lure Holden here.

Now that he was here, why was she hiding?

He recalled the adoration in her eyes, the way she had presented herself in a thin nightgown, appearing cheap. Annoying

lan unbuttoned the top button of his collar, revealing his sexy Adam’s apple.

Probably pushed to his limit this time, a hint of red appeared at the corner of his eyes, reminiscent of a poisonous flower.

Maja hid under the quilt, not daring to move. Without having to reach out to gauge the room’s atmosphere, she knew it was colder than a fridge inside

“Since you pretended to be sick to get Holden to bring me here, why are you hiding now? Wasnt it enough when you offered yourself at the hotel? My stance couldn’t be clearer.”

lan despised her to the point where even talking to her made him uncomfortable.

Luckily, he was leaving for Crystalbrook Valley soon, where he planned to stay a month before returning. This way, Holden would have no excuse to call him back to Rosewood Manor.

He took a deep breath, knowing that Holden was determined to keep him here tonight. There was no escape. So, he leaned back

But his back injury was still healing. Every thought of it reminded him of this woman, intensifying his hatred.
