In an instant, Herbert put down the two paintings, then rolled up the one that had been torn. 

“Who ruined this, huh? I spent at least a month on it. Some people just don’t know how to appreciate art.” 

He looked at Maja with furrowed eyebrows. 

“Who tore this?” 

Maja pointed at Edith, whose face instantly turned pale. “Herbert, what are you saying? Is this painting real?” 

Herbert frowned. “I painted it myself, how could it be fake, Miss Edith? Since you ruined my painting, you should compensate for it. Someone offered me 30 million for it at an auction, and I didn’t sell.” 

He was a bit pissed off, and he rolled up the painting. 

“I didn’t expect you to be such a philistine; no wonder people are suing you. You treat fakes like treasures and fish eyes like pearls; you’ll regret it one day!” 

Edith was speechless, and Carlene was absolutely flabbergasted. 

The painting she bought was fake? 

No way! 

She spent 60 million. That’s not a small amount for the Shepard family.

“Herbert, take another good look.” 

Herbert glanced at her sideways and sneered. 

“I didn’t accept you as my student because you’re shady. I didn’t expect you to try and destroy other people’s families. Thank God I didn’t let you be my student. And you use a fake painting to deceive people, even causing my hard work to be ruined; your appraisal ability is just so–so.” 

Herbert turned around, grabbed the painting, and walked straight out. 

From now on, I’m not selling my paintings to you two.” 

He said this, his finger almost poking the appraiser’s face 

“And you–you even said my authentic painting is a fake. I don’t know how you became an appraiser; you can only do deceptive things!” 

Carlene and Edith’s faces were very ugly, and the appraiser even kneeled on the spot. 

His career was ruined after tonight. 

Herbert sneered at everyone, then looked at Maja. 

Maja’s lips turned up slightly; she was about to follow him out.

“Herbert.” 

Herbert rolled his eyes directly, but his hand was gently pulled by Maja, indicating he should go first. 

Maja knew Herbert would protect her and would definitely scold lan later.
