When lan walked in, everyone else immediately stopped talking. 

Tyler enthusiastically handed him a glass of wine. 

“You’re late to the party, man. You missed all the fun. Ian, your wife is one heck of a character.” 

lan had just finished dealing with a whole mess of troubles from the Raymond family. Now Edith was in the hospital out of anger, and the Shepard family was constantly complaining. 

Maja had everyone on edge! 

Tyler clapped lan on the shoulder. 

“She may not be a looker, but man, can she talk! You landing her is quite a stroke of luck.” 

lan was having a rough day. He replied with a cold smile, “This luck of mine, do you want it?” 

Tyler immediately shut his mouth. After all, he was a sucker for a pretty face. 

lan took a sip of his wine, leaned back a bit, and undid a few buttons on his collar, his eyes cool and distant. 

Tyler tried to console him: “Forget about her; what are you planning to do about Carlene? After tonight, people will be talking. If you really like her, you should divorce and make it official.” 

lan looked at his glass of wine, his tone suddenly soft. 

“Grandpa wants me to marry Maja; grandma wants me to marry Carlene. Why can’t I just marry the person I really want to?” 

These words were spoken so softly that only Tyler and Fitch heard them. 

They exchanged a glance, not knowing what to say.

Talk is cheap, man. With your credentials, if you really married a divorcee, half the women in Greenfield would be heartbroken. You’re just not done playing the field.”

lan was about to take another sip of wine when his phone rang again. 

It was Holden calling. He guessed that Holden probably heard about Edith’s hospitalization.
