The doctor was a bit puzzled, as it seemed that lan really cared for that lady. Could it be that, as the CEO of the Raymond Group, he had no clue what liking 

someone meant? 

But the doctor didn’t say more, he just left cautiously. 

lan sat there, not wanting to go anywhere. He thought that if he saw Tyler or Fitch at this moment, his pride would take a hit. 

So he just sat there until 5 a.m, his body cold and his anger spent, before he finally returned to his room. 

The room was dead quiet when he opened the door. 

Jan thought Maja had left, after all, she could go directly to the underground parking lot by elevator 

But when he went to his bedroom to change his clothes, he saw a lump on the bed and instantly froze 

This was his room. 

Even though he had left in a huff, Maja had comfortably spent the night here.

He walked straight up, intending to yank off her blanket.

He stopped his hand, stood up straight, opened the closet, and picked out his clothes for the day. 

After changing, he didn’t look at Maja again, he just grabbed the documents on the coffee table and left. 

Jeff, who came to pick him up, was taken aback when he saw the clear five–finger imprints on lan’s cheek, wondering if Maja was still alive. 

lan was a man with a lot of pride; no one had ever dared treat him like this, let alone being slapped by a woman. 

As Jeff gripped the steering wheel, he couldn’t resist asking. 

“Mr. Raymond, is Miss Penny all right?” 

The mention of Penny made lan extremely uncomfortable. 

The stifling feeling in his chest was unbearable. 

“Not good, prepare an urn for her.” 

Jeff pursed his lips; honestly, that’s what he thought too. 

lan leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes 

“She’s sleeping in bed, have the hotel send up some food for her later, make sure it’s light 

Jeff glanced at the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but remind him. 

“If you really like Miss Penny, you could try to find out more about her family! 

lan just chuckled 

“Which eye of yours saw that I liked her?” 

Jeff was rebuked and immediately shut up. 

He was merely there to carry out lan’s orders; if lan asked him to investigate, he would do so right away 

But lan seemed not to notice his special feelings for Maja, so Jeff didn’t dare act rashly 

lan looked up at the building, feeling annoyed. 

And thinking of Maja crying, his heart ached all over again. 

The doctor said it was due to a dramatic emotional swing, so he closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down. 

“Go to the company.” 

Jeff immediately hit the gas pedal. 

Meanwhile, upstairs, Maja got a call from Tyler. 

“Maja, when will the money arrive?” 

Maja rubbed her eyes, then remembered that she was to invest in Tyler’s TV show. She immediately got up. 

“I’ll arrange for the bank to transfer it to you right away.” 

Tyler chuckled 

“Did you have a good night?” 

lan had already hung up on him, probably guessing the truth. 

How could this woman, who was using lan’s money to support Shawn, still be alive? 

Maja didn’t answer that question; she just reminded him.
