He could hear the seriousness in lan’s voice. He was really planning to send him out of the country quietly.

Lingery felt intense humiliation. His eyes were red and swollen, he struggled fiercely, but all in vain. 

He was originally on his way to have dinner with Carlene Shepard, he was about to meet with the girl he admire, but was brought here by lan’s men instead.

Just as lan was about to have Lingery taken away, his phone rang. It was Maureen Raymond calling. 

He answered the phone, his foot still planted on Lingery’s face. 

Maureen was silent for a few seconds before asking, “What have you done to Lingery?” 

lan squinted, “What are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
