Chapter 82 

Daly was suffering from heatstroke, and Maja didn’t want to argue with a sick person, so she nodded, saying, “Gotcha.” 

Daly chuckled, feeling terribly sorry for her. 

Maja didn’t say anything else and drove Daly to the hospital. 

In the meantime, Susan called, asking why they hadn’t come home yet. 

“He’s got heatstroke. I’m taking him to the hospital. We’ll probably be back late.” 

Upon receiving the Information, Susan grew anxious, “Which hospital are you at? I’m coming right over.” 

After providing the name of the hospital and hanging up, Maja received another call. 

‘Ms. Pennyfeather, hi, your apartment has been sold, but we need you to come in person to sign the contract. When will you be available?” Wait, the apartment was sold? 

Maja took a deep breath. It was good that the apartment was sold, so she would have money for the down payment for the house. 

“Alright, I’m still in town. I can sign as soon as I get back.” 

“Great, I heard you need the money urgently. It still needs to go through the bank, so it’ll probably take about two weeks. The sooner you sign, the sooner you can get the money.” “Got it, thanks.” 

With this matter settled, Maja breathed a sigh of relief. At least when her grandfather came back, she wouldn’t have to see lan at Rosewood Manor again. 

She was about to go back to the ward when she saw Daly walking out of the ward. 

“Maja, I’m okay now. No need to stay in the hospital. It’s just a waste of money. Just take me home. I’ll rest for a few days.” 

“I’ll cover your hospital expenses. Don’t worry about the money.” 

However, she still couldn’t convince Daly, so after getting his medicine, she had to take him home. 

Susan made dinner and hoped Maja could stay. 

Upon seeing Olivia, who had just come in from outside, Maja shook her head. 

“No need. I haven’t finished my painting of Riverside Haven yet.” 

Once Susan heard it was about Riverside Haven, she didn’t push her to stay. 

As she passed Olivia, she heard a snort of contempt. 

“What’s this Riverside Haven painting? Are you trying to hook up with that guy? I heard your husband is loaded. If you’re cheating on him, you know what the consequences would be 

right?” 

In fact, Olivia herself had wanted to get close to that guy. He was so charming and handsome. If he took a liking to her, wouldn’t she be able to do whatever she wanted in this county? However, despite several attempts, she couldn’t even get into the Riverside Haven. Moreover, she heard that the guy was leaving the day after tomorrow. 

Maja knew what she was up to and reminded her, “If you want to get in touch with him, at least get a college degree. You didn’t even finish middle school. Even if you do get to talk to him,, you probably won’t understand a word he’s saying.” 

Olivia was so angry that she was about to curse, but Maja had already walked out before she could say a word. 

Maja got in the car, feeling a splitting headache. Olivia was not only unintelligent but also poorly educated. Her expectations always exceeded her abilities. She was always hoping for: high–paying job, but she had never earned a dime. 

She had always been supported by Susan and Daly. After her cousin left, Olivia’s behavior became even more outrageous. 

This was Daly’s family business, and as a member of the younger generation, she shouldn’t interfere too much. 

When she drove the car back to the yard, Maja realized that she hadn’t eaten anything since noon and was now so hungry her stomach was growling. 

She knew there should be a cafeteria in the yard, but she didn’t know where it was, and there was no delivery service in Crystalbrook Valley where she lived. 

Feeling uncomfortable from hunger, Maja contemplated whether she should go out to buy something to eat when she noticed lan stepping out from the archway. 

Seeing her, lan instinctively furrowed his brow. 

Maja smiled at him and asked, “Mr. Raymond, do you know where the cafeteria is?”
