Zoey reluctantly rolled out of bed, she was running a fever. 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, I just got woken up by my alarm clock. It’s lunchtime, and I haven’t made your reservation yet.” 

Maja suddenly got a sense of urgency and hung up right away, dialing Elvis’s number. 

But Elvis’s phone was off to the side charging, and he’d already popped open his lunch box. 

Feeling unwell, he took a couple of sips of soup first. 

Meanwhile, Maja, scared shitless quickly took the elevator up and barged into his office. 

“Elvis!” 

Elvis looked up. “Mr. Pennyfeather?” 

Maja’s face was gloomy as she approached him. “Are you feeling okay?” 

Elvis was about to shake his head when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Then he went pale and passed out. “Elvis!!” 

Maja immediately rushed him to the hospital. 

She had a feeling there was something fishy about the lunch, but she didn’t expect it to be this serious. 

As Elvis was rushed into the emergency room, Maja was left alone in the corridor, her mind in chaos. 

The doctors were unclear about what was going on, but Elvis had severe hypoxia. 

Maja was extremely anxious, pacing back and forth. 

She didn’t tell anyone about this, and she just called her employees to check who delivered that lunch box. 

Elvis’s emergency treatment lasted until midnight, and Maja was exhausted and dreading the worst. 

Fortunately, at one in the morning, the doctors wheeled him out. 

Elvis was lying pale–faced on the bed, the anesthesia had not worn off yet, but he could hear the voices outside.. 

He heard Maja asking the doctor. 

“Was it food poisoning?”

Maja followed the doctor into the room, her heart aching. 

She couldn’t bear the weight of a life, thankfully, Elvis was okay. 

She sat in front of his bed, dialing her company again to ask about the investigation results. 

“Mr. Pennyfeather, we’ve sent the CCTV footage to your phone. The lunch was delivered by a woman.” 

Maja hurriedly opened the video. Even though the woman tried to hide her hairstyle, which was similar to Maja’s, it only made her instantly recognizable. Moreover, Darlene was so stupid that she didn’t even wear gloves when delivering the food, her fingerprints must be on the lunch box. 

Maja immediately reported it to the police. 

Darlene had returned to the BlueSky Bar. The women there noticed her happiness and reminded her, “Did you leave any evidence when you fed him that stuff? You didn’t leave any fingerprints, did you?” 

Darlene froze. “What do you mean?” 

The woman laughed. “Darlene, we all know you’re stupid, arrogant, and hypocritical, but we didn’t expect you to be this stupid. That drug is deadly. You‘ left fingerprints, isn’t that like telling the police that you did it? We know that those with power can play with people’s lives, but we’re just ordinary people so murder gets you jail time. Aren’t you aware of that?” 

Darlene really hadn’t thought of that, so her face turned white. 

She was too arrogant, always thinking about getting close to lan, completely forgetting that she’s just an ordinary person at the moment. 

She was immediately soaked in a cold sweat and quickly left for Greenfield Gardens. 

If anything happened to Maja’s company, if someone reported it, the police would be on her so fast.
