Chapter 347

The stall owner clearly hadn’t processed all of the information since they were just too
mind–blowing. She only felt a deep shock in her heart, and when she looked at Alaric
again, her gaze became somewhat strange and profound.
Alaric looked at Victoria with a hint of helplessness and exasperation. Is she into such
stuff or is she just trying to teach me a lesson?
After they purchased the food, they wanted to get a seat. Chairs were provided at the
stall, however, due to the location near the road and the constant foot traffic, there was
also a lot of dust and used tissues scattered around the place; just these things alone
made it impossible to find a place to set foot comfortably.
Not to mention Alaric, even the two children were dumbfounded as they never
expected the sanitary conditions to be so poor. Especially Nicole, who had eagerly
bounded over to the seats, hesitated to approach upon witnessing the scene; instead,
she looked up at Victoria with an expression tinged with helplessness. “Mommy.”
Victoria saw an opportunity and smiled softly while crouching down in front of her.
“Nicole, didn’t you say you wanted to come and have some waffles? There’s a spot over
there. Shall we go sit there?”

“But Mommy…” Nicole pouted, feeling somewhat aggrieved. “The ground over there is
so dirty. How could those people just throw all the tissues on the ground?”

“Nicole, not everyone has had the same upbringing as you from an early age. Even if
they have received similar education, many would change as they grow older. That’s
just how the world works. You may have good manners, but others may not. So, unless
you’ve already made up your mind, we’ll eat the food we prepare at home next time,
alright?”
Victoria wasn’t sure if Nicole understood her, but when she heard the last sentence, she
nodded her head forcefully, indicating how eager she was to go home as soon as
possible.
Alaric, who was standing beside her, couldn’t suppress a laugh at the sight of her too.
Wasn’t she the one who suggested eating outside?
“How about we bring the food back to the car and enjoy it there?” Alaric observed
Nicole’s face which was almost crumpled with worry.
Nicole promptly nodded obediently. “Alright.”
“Let’s go.”
Chapter 347 Complete Love
During the walk to the car, Nathan maintained silence, blending into the backdrop as
his voice went unheard. This was primarily because he was at a loss for words. Mr.
Night treats us kindly, but Mommy’s treatment of him is unfavorable and she doesn’t
wish for him to be our father too.
Thus, Nathan always took his cue from his mother toward Alaric, unlike Nicole.
On the way back, Nathan had already prepared himself to be led by Victoria by hand.
Unexpectedly, Alaric suddenly squatted down beside him and extended his hand.
“Come up.”

Once Alaric said that, he didn’t even bother waiting for a response as his large hand
cradled Nathan’s bottom, embracing both Nathan and Nicole into his arms, one on each
side.
Perhaps out of fear of falling, Nathan instinctively reached out his small hand and clung
to Alaric’s neck.
In the past, Victoria would often hold Nicole more frequently because of her restless
nature, and Nathan was also willing to share his love for Nicole with Victoria. Still, he
was aware that Victoria had limited physical strength and could only carry one child at
a time. So, most of the time, Nicole would be in Victoria’s arms, while he would walk

alongside them.

Although he also yearned for Victoria’s embrace, he knew that her physical endurance
was limited; merely carrying Nicole for a short while would prompt her to put her down.
and take a break.
For this reason, Nathan became even more hesitant to be carried by Victoria. Yet, at
this very moment, Mr. Night effortlessly cradled one child in each arm.
Similarly, Victoria shared the same sentiment as Nathan. She experienced a mixture of
emotions as she watched Alaric effortlessly carrying both children in his arms.
Prior to her pregnancy, she had contemplated having just one child. Perhaps due to her
own lack of maternal affection during her upbringing, Victoria desired to provide one
child with a complete childhood. However, she never expected that her child would not
only follow the path of growing up in a single–parent family but also add another child
to the equation.
Although she made every effort to be fair to the two little ones, deep down she knew
true impartiality was unattainable. Nathan was introverted, understanding, and very,
very considerate; he was not fussy and often took her thoughts into account. Nicole, on
the other hand, was different. She was mischievous, loved to play and eat, and was
particularly spoiled, so she frequently sought attention and demanded to be carried.

Every time Victoria gave more attention to Nicole, it would result in Nathan receiving
less. As days went by, the attention she devoted to Nathan gradually diminished as he
became increasingly mature.

This made Victoria constantly feel guilty about her son’s maturity. However, seeing
Alaric effortlessly managing both children now, she unexpectedly found it rather
comforting.
With Nicole’s outgoing nature, she became highly dependent on him and grew closer to
him than to Bane, who had been by their side for five years.
As for Nathan, considering his introverted nature, his acceptance of Alaric could be
acknowledged despite him not expressing it outwardly. Otherwise, he probably
wouldn’t even allow anyone else to hold him.
Victoria held the belief that she alone could provide the children with complete love,
but the current reality proved that her efforts were far from sufficient.
She quickly followed along with a heavy heart.
Later, as everyone returned to the car, she observed Alaric taking care of the two
children while they ate. Although his actions were clumsy and inexperienced, he
displayed genuine dedication and attentiveness, even expressing moments of
