Robert's word completely angered Elizabeth.
What she hated most was that Robert talked to her in the tone of an elder.
Elizabeth snorted, raised her chin and said disdainfully, "Apologize? What did I say wrong? Robert, if you hadn't spoken nonsense, mother and I would not turn against each other. You are a despicable man!"
…
Elizabeth was going to mad. If she didn't leave, she couldn't hold on any longer, so she trotted up the elevator after finishing her last sentence.
She went to the first floor, but Robert chased her down from the stair. He twisted her wrist and blocked her way.
His handsome face fell, and his voice was also cold. "Elizabeth, who are you calling me despicable people?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes and said, "Well, Mr. Williams, do you think that I didn't scold you enough? The despicable villain is just used to describe a man like you as a beast. On one hand, you kept an ambiguous relationship with my mother, and on the other hand, you provoked me. You actually told her about me and Marvin! Robert, do you know that you are extremely despicable?"
Elizabeth was very angry. The matter between her and Marvin was already caused a heavy psychological pressure to her. The talk of the town had not completely stopped recently, and now even Aileen knew it. What's more, she was swearing something terrible to her.
She really couldn't think of anyone but Robert who would talk too much to Aileen. For a moment, she put all the blame on him alone.
However, Robert smiled coldly.
Without saying a word, he grabbed Elizabeth's wrist and dragged her into his car like an eagle catching a chicken.
Elizabeth rushed to the door, trying to escape, but was caught by his big hand on her waist and dragged back easily.
For a moment, she lost her balance and hit her head back into his chest, making him dizzy.
"Robert, what the hell do you want? Do you still think that my life is not chaotic enough? Do you know that if you get me into the car like this, I will be in trouble if Marvin's spies see me..."
She reached out and rubbed the back of her head, which was hurting, feeling resentful.
The man's face darkened, and he didn't seem to be playing with her at all. "When did you hear that I told Aileen about you?"
She blurted out. "Who else would say that? Who could Aileen get in touch with in the hospital?"
He pursed his lips, narrowed his eyes, and pinched her chin. "Are you stupid? Aileen saw with her own eyes that you had a contraceptive injection. What's more, you have a relationship with Marvin. Do you really think your mother is blind and couldn't see anything after so many years?"
Elizabeth's face was a little stiff because his analysis was correct.
Perhaps Aileen had heard some rumors and had long suspected it, but she feared to hurt her feelings and didn't say it out. Today, she saw with his own eyes the bill for her contraceptive injection, so she couldn't bear it anymore...
She could not help but feel a little guilty and realized she was a little blurted. She shrank her shoulders and her voice softened a lot.
"Didn't you really say anything?”
He sneered coldly and said, "You and Marvin were so close that everyone could guess it without being blind. Elizabeth, who do you think I am? You scolded me? I saved you time and time again, and you owe me a lot of favors. In the end, not only did you not thank me, but you even dared to scold me. Do you really think that I can't bear to hurt you, huh?"
Elizabeth was frightened by his fierce gaze and shrank her shoulders even more.
She was also a little flustered and realized that her attitude toward him was really... not too good.
