The four numbers on the bill almost made me vomit blood. The dress cost 5,999 dollars.
Just a simple dress like this cost almost 6000 dollars. I wasn't wearing a dress, but money itself.
My monthly salary was only about seven or eight thousand dollars. I would never buy such a dress.
I looked at Brandon awkwardly. It wasn't that I couldn't afford this skirt. I just didn't want to spend a month's salary to buy only a dress. As to me, it wasn't worth it.
"This dress is so expensive..."
I looked at Brandon awkwardly and said this in a low voice.
Looking at his proud eyes, I really wanted to slap myself. Why did I say that I would pay him back? I really made a mistake.
"You said you'd pay me back for the dress. Well, give me the money right now."
Brandon looked at me proudly, his voice full of provocation.
"Um, can I pay you back in a few days? I don't have that much money now."
6,000 dollars. Where could I get so much money for him right now? I really wanted to take the dress off and returned it to him if I had any other clothes to wear, then I wouldn't need to spend 6000 dollars on a dress.
"Sure."
Brandon's tone was indifferent. In fact, this amount of money was nothing to him. He could buy millions of dresses like this just with the money he earned in one single day.
"Um, can I pay in instalments?"
I always send part of my salary home for my father to buy supplements, so I didn't really have a lot of extra money. I only left just enough to survive.
"You need to pay in instalments for a dress? How poor are you, Hollie?"
Brandon looked at me in surprise. There was suspicion in his eyes.
"I'm really poor. I send my money home to my parents, so I don't really have any extra money. Can I pay you 500 dollars every month?"
I looked into Brandon's eyes and carefully negotiated with him.
Brandon touched his forehead and looked at me speechlessly.
"I don't need you to give me money. In the future, I will often go to that apartment I bought for you, and you'll need to cook for me."
Cook again? He had housekeepers, then why did he always need me to cook for him? I didn't even cook that well.
I wasn't very willing, but I had no choice. What if he forced me to return the money to him at once if I refused him? I didn't have that much money.
After thinking about it for a while, I finally agreed. I nodded and said no more.
After getting my answer, I thought I saw triumph in his eyes. I suddenly felt deceived.
I shook my head and told myself that I had thought too much. Why would Brandon deceive me? I didn't have anything he needed.
I sat in Brandon's car and he drove us to the company. When we arrived, he parked in the basement parking lot. I got off his car when I saw that no one was around. I didn't want anyone to see me.
Brandon had warned me more than once that we couldn't let anyone know our relationship, so I had to be careful every time I was with him, for fear of being discovered.
