I couldn't sleep that night. When I got up the next morning, I looked at the two big dark circles under my eyes in the mirror and sighed irritably.
I prepared some breakfast but I had no appetite at all. I ate a little and went to the company.
As he said, Brandon was going to stay in the company for half a year. I thought that Brandon was just saying that, but I didn't expect him to really stay.
Looking at the temporary president's office not far away and thinking of what happened with Brandon last night, I began to feel a little worried.
Every time I saw him, I was stressed. I would have to see him for the next six months. I wasn't sure how I would survive this time.
Fortunately, Brandon was a workaholic. When he worked, he wouldn't see anyone and didn't deliberately make things difficult for me.
I was about to get off work. I was sorting out the documents on my desk when my cell phone rang. I saw the caller ID. It was a call from Dylan.
I panicked and looked at the president's office guiltily.
Seeing that Brandon was still focused on the documents in his hand, I answered the phone.
"Rest assured. Are you still busy? Why did you take so long to answer the phone?"
Dylan's gentle voice came from the other end of the phone, with a hint of tenderness.
"Yes, I just finished my work. I'm ready to get off work."
I responded faintly and looked at the president's office again. I found that Brandon was staring at me at the moment.
When I looked into his deep eyes, I panicked and quickly looked away. I didn't know why I would feel guilty while calling Dylan in front of him.
"Hollie. We haven't seen each other for several days. Let's have dinner together tonight."
Dylan's voice came from the other end of the phone again, which brought back my thoughts.
"Well, I..."
I didn't know how to face Dylan now. I had already agreed with Brandon to carry on our relationship for another half a year, which meant that Dylan and I wouldn't be able to be together like regular couples.
But if I had to maintain such a relationship with Brandon and give up Dylan, I was still a little reluctant. It was not because I was fickle, it was just that a suitable marriage partner was hard to come by.
It was very troublesome for me to find a suitable marriage partner, and I might not be able to find such a suitable person next time.
"Hollie, what's wrong? Is it inconvenient for you to talk right now?"
Before I could answer, Dylan's voice came again, with disappointment in his tone.
"No, then we..."
I wanted to say yes to Dylan, but Brandon's voice came from not far away.
"Hollie, there are still some documents here. Hurry up and sort them out."
Brandon stood not far away from me and looked at my phone with a cold face. There was no expression on his handsome face.
"Oh, okay..."
