Seeing the contempt on Evie's face, Laney's expression changed. She was obviously angry. "Evie, don't be so mean. Vaughn and I really love each other. If it wasn't for Hollie Hunter, we would have been together a long time ago!"
Evie rolled her eyes and put on a disgusted expression. "Every homewrecking b*tch has had the same excuse since ancient times. True love is bullshit. You're just a sl*t who seduced your best friend's fiance!"
Laney glared at Evie angrily. "Who are you calling a b*tch? Evie, say that again to my face!"
"You know very well who I'm calling a b*tch, right? Some b*tches like to act pure, how disgusting!"
Unwilling to show weakness, Evie glared back at Laney.
Their quarrel attracted many people's attention. I quickly pulled on Evie's arm. "There's no need to quarrel with someone like this. Let's go."
"Vaughn, they bullied me. Don't tell me you don't care?"
Just as Evie and I were about to leave, Laney took Vaughn's arm and looked aggrieved.
"Hollie."
Vaughn frowned, as if he couldn't bear to see Laney suffer, so he stopped me.
Hearing him call my name, my heart ached inexplicably. I resisted the urge to cry and turned around to look at him coldly.
"Your friend, Evie, was really rude to Laney just now. Shouldn't she apologize?"
