"I…"
Vespera glanced around again and then lowered her voice. "I'm worried about getting pregnant. We didn't use protection either time, and yesterday you insisted on doing it in the water."
Dominic stayed silent for a long moment.
Meanwhile, she kept glancing around nervously, scared they might run into someone they knew, or worse, get noticed and photographed.
Dominic was just too good-looking. These days, people even snapped pictures of random flowers and stray cats, let alone a guy like him.
Suddenly, she felt her body being lifted. Dominic had scooped her into his arms.
"Put me down!" she yelped.
Last night it had been dark and the streets had been empty, but now they were in a hospital, and a bridal carry was too over-the-top!
Dominic ignored her protests, calmly and confidently carrying her straight through the busiest hallway.
This was the second time he had "blown up" the hospital, with the first being when he showed up with a bouquet of chrysanthemums to visit someone.
Vespera spotted someone pulling out a phone. She couldn't block his face, so she just covered her own.
Dominic carried her right out of the hospital.
His car was parked at the front. Gerard hadn't come with him—Dominic had driven himself.
Halfway through lunch, he had seen Gerard lower his head to answer a message.
His gut told him it was from her. So, he pretended he needed the restroom and dragged Gerard outside to ask.
Hearing that she had supposedly gone to the osteopathy clinic, he immediately felt something was off. Why use that excuse at this particular time?
Thinking about how pale she had looked that morning, he checked her location and saw she was at the hospital.
Dominic gently placed her in the passenger seat, got in himself, and drove off. "I'm taking you somewhere," he said.
"But I haven't picked up my prescription yet…" Vespera protested.
"No need. I'm taking you somewhere else to fix the problem," Dominic said.
Then he paused, his voice low and full of guilt. "I'm sorry. I should've thought about this more carefully."
